I went to the branch at ann siang hill, and i have to say that it has a really lovely ambience. tucked away in a corner, up a flight of stairs, and there is a very rustic, victorian-feel about the place. it was quite empty when we were there on an early sunday morning, just a few tables occupied, all ang-mohs. you feel as though you’re overseas, except that when you look out, you can admire the beautiful skyline of the CBD.

i’ve heard about their truffle shoestring fries ($15). and i’ve never had much experience with truffle fries, but i’ve never been that impressed with those i’ve tried so far. UNTIL THIS. listen up, PS Cafe’s truffle fries are LEGENDARY. they are just simply darn awesome!!!! i have no words i can use to express this. when it came to the table, the whoosh of the smell of truffles just hit me. and the fries are coated in a lovely aroma of truffle essence, with grated parmesan cheese that further embodies the truffle flavour. and each piece of the fries is just super crisp and a delight to eat.

the strawberry pancakes ($23) were, i felt, nothing very spectacular. it was a generous stack of homely fluffy pancakes though
i liked how they were not done in a “perfect” polished way, but rather, looked like they had been tossed together rather artistically. and the strawberries were inside the pancake batter! interesting
they came with whipped cream, maple syrup and poached berries (which were super sweet!!!!)

I had the chorizo and eggs ($28). Loved how fragrant the sausage was – it went beautifully with the toasted sourdough, mushrooms, avocado and eggs. you can choose to have the eggs poached/scrambled/fried.

the steak sandwich ($29) was a whopper of a burger!
and it was goooood. it was one of their specials, so it isnt on the menu. there were so many layers of things, can’t figure out what it was. but the beef was really tender. beautifully done
and it came with more fries! just normal shoestring fries, which was still yummy

love this place, love the ambience. Definitely recommended for dates! ;)

If this is not the life of the high-fliers, I don't know what is. Visited the washroom and I was surprised but this HUGE bouquet of flower arrangement which took up almost 3/4 of the mirror infront of me which I thought was funny. Also, while walking towards our seat, a long row of pretty cakes greeted us and was totally taunting me to try them all!
The place has this really rustic feel to it and during the odd hours, there was hardly anyone there on a weekday and so my company and I had the whole of the second floor to ourselves.

We ordered this Pineapple Meringue Pie served with vanilla ice cream ($14)

The taste didn't really stick with me although you could taste the pineapple really strongly. After recalling how difficult it is to make this meringue, I decided to savour it slowly. Considering the price, I don't think I would want to try this one anymore.
I will definitely want to go back to try their sticky date pudding which the waitress recommended as the favorite of many customers.

Rotisserie chicken with mash potato and salad -
Crispy chicken with the subtle aroma of wine , and lots of herbs and spices (paprika taste was quite strong) tasted really tender and easily sliced apart with fork and knife. I opted mash potatoes which was creamy and velvety, and salad as sides.

Miso cod – This one was my favourite, the fish is very fresh, light tasting , and yet with the subtle charring added another bitter texture to the dish. Integrated into a sweet pumpkin that is roasted well golden, but a sloppy dark eggplant draped ontop of it kinda ruined the visual appeal for me.

Sticky dates pudding with toffee sauce –
Warm and dense pudding naturally melting the icecream balanced on top, looks interestingly like an octopus clinging to a rock. Toffee sauce was really sweet and thick, what I like to do is take a few spoonfuls and give the “octopus” a bath.

Truffle fries seem to be a craze amongst Singaporeans foodies. My friend recommended P.S. Cafe's truffle fries so I tried it for myself. The verdict? Excellent. The fries were fantastically crispy and not the least soggy. It also did not taste too oily. This is a major plus point. As for the truffles itself, they were rather generous with the truffles (for its price, it better be) and the taste complemented the crispy fries well.

We decided to depart from the usual carrot cake and sticky date pudding (everytime.allthetime) and made orders for a coconut raisin bread pudding and a caramel banana cake.

These came as if they were castles surrounded and drowned in the moat of sauce. While I do profess I like my dessert with ample dressing, this was dessert suicide. Next time, we'll be sure to ask for sauce on the side. Vanilla and caramel sauce. Both were saccharine sweet. You'd be none the wiser after having both.

The taste of coconut was subtle but ever present in the bread pudding. And that little coconut puff on top? Me like! I wish for some burnt crusty edges and more raisins though.

It is tucked away at one corner and you will missed it easily as its located after a flight of stairs with a board saying 'Ann Siang Hill', there isnt a PS Cafe signboard anywhere near.

The ambience of the restaurant is classy and its dark at the 3rd level, it is more of a place for business meeting or drinks than a group gathering. The candles on the table doesnt help much either.

We had the big nihon salad - its soy cured salmon with julienne kodocha, edamame, pea shoots, buckwheat noodles, cucumber, tofu & tomatoes tossed with caramelised ginger & toasted goma vinagrette. I am not a fan of buckwheat noodles but the noodles in this salad was amazingly good! Not sure what they did exactly to the salmon which they roll it up, its a piece of heaven. The salad portion is huge and its extremely filling for one. Good to share but it wont be enough!

Beef Burgundy pie is slow braised tender beef & mushrooms in red wine witH butter mash potato & glazed spring vegetables. Generous portion of beef, however, i cant taste the red wine at all. Personally, i find this dish a little too much for me, though the mash potato was not bad.

Rotisserie chicken is white wine marinated whole spring chicken roasted with thyme, rosemary, garlic, and a hint of parma served with choice of 2 sides. We chose fries and i cant remember another side, but i remembered that rotisserie chicken is another dish which i will go back for, other than the nihon salad.

We also had the original laksa pesto. Its spaghetti tossed with laksa pesto, coconut cream, king prawns & fishcakes topped with long bean sambal coriander & chilli. Dont like pesto but this dish is not bad, the laksa and pesto blended well together, not too rich and still able to taste both different flavors.

We had about 6 slices of cake after that and i ended with a cake coma for the first time. I dont really remember what we had except the key lime pie. Well, if you like sour stuff, you gotta try it! Worth every penny! Ended the evening with a muddy mojito.

The service is so so and parking is a bitch at this branch.

Not just the dining environment here is very comfortable and spacious, the different types of main courses on their food menu also taste great too! Personally I like their grilled pumpkin which the pumpkin is very smooth and soft in texture. light seasoning has been added in it which does not affect the natural sweetness from the pumpkin and at the same time taste delicious too.

Chocolate brownie was too rich with marshmellows in it. Suitable for people who love very rich and deep taste.

After having a liking for P.S Cafe for their cakes and ambience at the Dempsey's outlet, I was delighted they located their latest outlet at the CBD area, nestled in one corner at Ann Siang Hill Park entrance. Here are the dishes we had for the night!

Mushroom soup, truffle oils (with me amazed, or rather shocked at the portion LOL) and pork chop.

I wouldn't say much about their mains cos they are not particularly delicious, so yes in my opinion so-so. However, I would recommend their truffle oil fries! A big portion at $15! I really like the texture and found them quite addictive! But yeah expensive just cos' of the truffle oil? I suppose so haha.

The highlight is the blackout cake, but it is too huge a portion even for the two of us to share. We requested to go up to the bar area to chill despite not buying any alcohol, but just to have our desserts and the staff allowed us to do so! Beams!

This is it! A rich (very) chocolate cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! The cake was a little warmed, so topped with the coldness of the ice cream, it was quite an enjoyable sensation in the mouth. Very sinful though.

I really like the ambience in both settings, and this is a picture of the backdrop on the bar level (with my handsome BF in it haha) .

Ambience seems to always triumph taste when we talk about P.S Cafe?
In any case, this is a very lovely place for couples to have a romantic meal together and chillax at the bar area thereafter! (:
