I am always been a big fan of spicy food and will definitely not resist when saw any spicy food around me.  Saw the menu here from this Malay food outlet and was craving for curry chicken, so decided to order one to taste it.Took around 8 minutes before I can pick up the food over at their pick up counter.  Curry gravy was thick and creamy, which really towards my liking.  As for the chicken meat, the portion was generous and the chicken meat texture is tender and juicy.  Even the few pieces of potato are soft and easy to chew as well. Paid $5.50 for this bowl of local delight, which is affordable.  This food stall is always crowded with many customers and you will feel abit warm and squeezy here.  Service was alright but could have been more friendly. continue reading

Punggol Nasi Padang, as its name implies, serves nasi padang and also other food like nasi lemak and roti pratas. They also have a drinks stall. It’s not a big restaurant since the kitchen and serving area took up some space but still there are seats available.I had the Nasi Lemak at this stall and was quite disappointed with the food served. They have a few sets to choose from and I got one of the pre-determined sets but I changed the chicken wing that comes with it to ikan bilis. Besides which, it came with otah, fish and cucumbers. The otah tasted quite hard, and wasn’t nice to eat at all. The fish was better and they gave 2 pieces which was quite generous. But like the otah, feels as if it has been left for some time after being cooked and felt cold when eating it. Still, the fish was quite salty and palatable. The chilli is super spicy though! Wished there was more of the anchovies in the ikan bilis to lend somemore flavour to the ikan bilis. continue reading

Had my lunch in this Punggol Nasi Padang outlet at Far East Plaza. Have bought a plate of mee robus to try. Priced at $4.00 was descently priced but the portion was abit too little. The peanut gravy was quite thin and tasteless. The noodles was cooked till the right texture and not too soggy but not much beansprouts can be found in this dish. Even the cut green chillis are also unable to bring out the fragrant to this dish. Restaurant is cooling and not too squeezy and the service was friendly. continue reading

I was on the way home from Changi and got to transfer bus at Far East Plaza. Feeling hungry, I quickly went in to buy a packet of rice since I was sort of in a hurry to get home. Bought a packet of rice with a chicken drumstick, a portion of sausage and a portion of sambal kangkong. Chicken was very tender and tasty; sambal for the kangkong was not to spicy, but the sausage was a bit bland thou. The downside of it is... ... this packet of rice cost $8! continue reading
