Qi ji mee siam never fails me. I have been eating their mee siam for years. It may not have as many ingredients as some other mee siam but it made it up for it with the wonderful sweet and sour taste. The chilli goes well with the bee hoon as well and it's not too spicy. adds the subtle spiciness to the sweet and sour gravy. As with all Qi Ji outlets, they are usually packed during meal times. continue reading

This is one of my favourite dish from Qi Ji Food stall. The mee siam here is very fragrant with really nice presentation as well. The sour spicy gravy in it is full of the nice flavour from the chilli paste and different types of spicies used in it. The orange bee hoon is also quite soft in texture and absorbed the nice flavour from the gravy as well. The crunchy beansprout also added that extra crunchiness to this dish as well. continue reading

I went to the Cashier's counter to order a plate of Mee Siam for dining in and to make payment along with this order. The service was a little laid back instead of giving the order to the 2 Aunties a little further down from the cashier's counter. The Cashier asked me to order directly from the Aunties in quite a not so polite tone. This Mee Siam was not disappointing but rather superficially boring. I did expect it to be better though. And to make it worst, they have forgotten to give me the little green lime. I do like the extra sourness, i wanted to go back to get it but the queue was rather long during the lunch hour on a Sunday so i decided to forget it. It is $3.50 for a plate, definitely more expensive than those at neighbor area but this is to be expected given the prime location of this air-con cafe. Unless you are rather hungry and wanted to try something different if not perhaps should just stick with their popiah. continue reading

They serve a variety of nasi lemak sets. I chose set 3, which comprises of fried chicken wing, otah, egg and ikan bilis. The rice was very fragrant with the coconut milk, and is probably one of the favorite items from this shop. The chicken wing was crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside. The ikan bilis was fried well and maintained its crispiness. The otah was quite spicy, but delicious. Those who like spicy food will love their chili - a must have for nasi lemak. Very spicy, but very fragrant. continue reading
