Having my quick bite lunch, I ordered signature Malay cuisine. It was worth to mention about, savoury and hearty broth to soak up redly fried meehoon. Hardboiled egg was cut into pieces, beautifully well-arranged on top of the dish. Crispy Tau Pok absorbed the sweet tangy broth, spicy sambal was putting aside. I stirred it up and enjoyed the mix, Mee Siam looked tempting and taste even better. $4.00 was affordable enough, humble yet delicious meal.

Qi ji is my favorite place for nasi lemak.. I prefer the branch at funan centre, which is their flagship shop...I feel that their food is always hot and fresh and cooked perfectly. As for tiong bahru branch, is not bad too.. but chicken wing is nt hot. I love the chilli. The chicken wing though nt hot anymore but still crispy and taste good, rice is with coconut fragrance, the sunny side rgg is too cooked.

qi ji nasi lemak is my number one choice if I am feeling to have some coconut rice and chicken wings for dinner or lunch. there are about six choices of the nasi lemak set meal to choose from and my choice will always be set 3, which comes with chicken wing, egg, otak otak and peanuts/ikan bilis. The Popiah at first didn’t look too appealing. popiah skin was obviously dry and hard, tried to cover by spreading a lot of sweet sauce and chilli to make it moist and soft.I know my popiahs. The filling was average.

Came to the spotlight of the meal, the rice is fluffy and fragrant. The smell of coconut arouses and I was almost drooling my way through while queueing for it. The portion was generous too! Chicken was well cooked and crispy. Otah is the soft/dry “style” , I wished it were more evenly lightly charred because it was kind of Al Dente at the other side. Ikan kuning is dry and tough. Didn’t like it. Breaded fish was a little cold, I think it’s been left there as demand is low. The best part is the Sambal chilli which was mild and tangy and made the perfect companion to all the food on the table.

The Nasi Lemak here was so nice that we ate 3 servings between the 2 of us. FATTTTTT!

Set B, $4.00
Comes with a slice of Egg Omelette, Otar and Fried Chicken Wing

I like everything about this dish from the chicken wings to the chilli. The chicken wings never fail to disappoint; always crispy and juicy. A word of advice here, is to eat the chicken wings with your hands, or at least use your non-disposable cutlery. My plastic disposable cutlery always snaps when I attempt to eat the chicken wings with it.

You can smell the coconut fragrance in the rice even before you tuck in. For me, I love to add a large amount of chilli on the side. I have this obsession about eating every mouth of this meal with their chilli, because it is so good! Mixing in the chilli with the fragrant coconut rice really turns up the heat of this dish for me.

Whenever I got craving for Nasi Lemak, I will always drop by the branch at Tiong Bahru Plaza since it's the nearest to me.Qiji offers many different kind of nasi lemak set to cater to their customers. For me I am a big fan of their chicken wings, so Set B (consist of eggs, otah and chicken wing) will always be my top choice. For $4 a set, it is definitely one of cheapest filling food you can find in a shopping mall. Peak hours can be annoying if you want to sit there and enjoy your food as the branch is quite small with limited seats.

Popiah is one of the signature items at Qi Ji and I will usually buy their popiahs when i visit their different outlets in Singapore. The one here at Tiong bahru Plaza may not be as big as the one from other outlets. Feel that the filling is abit too dry and not too fragrant. The popiah skin is quite dry as well. May not be my liking and would not try it from this stall in future.

Qi Ji started with popiah but they have since expanded and included items like Nasi Lemak, Mee Siam and even Mee Rebus. I tried their Mee Rebus for the first time. It consists of the yellow noodle served in the savory gravy and accompanied with a hard-boiled egg and bits of fried tofu served with bean sprouts in the noodle. Then, green cut chillies, chopped coriander and dried shallots are added just before served. It is an enjoyable plate of mee rebus.

I like the chili that came along with it as well as it add a punch to the food too Can't really remember the price that i paid for it but it was more than $4. A small store with about 20 pax capacity... during lunch time can be very occupied... Qiji is quite well known for it's Local Malay dishes like Mee Siam, Nasi Lemak etc...

Today, I felt like eating little.. so I ordered the Popiah instead of my usual Mee Siam. Nice nice, at only $2, the popiah is filled with ingredients...

shared the fruit Rojak with my colleagues... it is quite nice. Fried dough is very crispy, and they added the green apple slice in the rojak too.. made it very refreshing... and it is just for $3.50 with such big serving...

I went on having their Chee Cheong Fun (very smooth and nice)

From my past experience.... Qi ji's food has been quite consistent even though they appear to be franchised.

I always eat the mee rebus at qi ji as i find that it is filling enough for me. It costs $3.50 now for a bowl of mee rebus but it is worth it as the ingredients complement each other very well. I love their gravy although it is quite spicy for me too.

Every time i go to food courts, I always like to try laksa. I have developed a liking for laksa ever since i i first tried it at fong seng. The laksa at qiji, is just as delicious. It was a little spicy but the taste was so good. It had the right amount of coconut in the soup. There was a generous amount of fishcake and tofu. A dish worth trying. Two thumbs up!!
