Across all the food courts, hawker centres or major coffee shops, there would definitely be at least one handmade noodle stall which proved about the demand. Qiu Lian Ban Mian was always popular with a long queue, although many similar competitors existed. The menu stated on board was nearly same with other outlets, either in soup or dried version.I opted for soup version, better and healthier choice. Decent bowl of handmade noodle, the soup was thick and savoury. Noodle was well-cooked and soft, ingredients was generously given. Anchovies were a lot but not too salty, minced pork and egg mixed around together with good taste. You Mian was mushier than Ban Mian, I prefer the Ban Mian texture. Only $3.50 each bowl, the price was not too expensive. continue reading

It was one of those days that i do not know what to eat and i was happened to be there. I wanted something light so the you mian from this stall seemed to be a top choice. I ordered a basic bowl of you mian for $3.90. The lady manned this stall smiled at me when she spotted me checking the menu out earlier. A good portion of you mian served with a handful of minced meat, some stalks of vegetables and ikan belis. There are 2 types of chilli available for selection, the usual red cut chilli and chilli puree. The texture of noodle was cooked nicely but the broth was rather bland thus almost tasteless. It was rather unbearable so i left quite a bit unfinished. I was left feeling unsatisfied and disappointed. continue reading
