The restaurant offers many options. But its specialty is the sashimi, which are flown fresh directly from Japan twice weekly. The uni and the amaebi is especially sweet. And the otoro price is unbeatable. U cant get the same quality cheaper anywhere else.Karei age or a type of fried flatfish is a hit with my family. Its meat are cut out and shaped into balls, so no worries about bones. The whole fish bone is then deep-fried to a crisp, perfect with beer. The restaurant does not offer any kid menus, but u can request for mini udon or ramen. My 18mo baby finished up the whole bowl of udon by himself, which was a surprise since he usually doesn't eat much.Highly recommended, even for families. continue reading

This restaurant sells Japanese cuisines and is very crowded during lunch hour. They have many value for money set lunches hence is very poor polar among the workers around that area. however, today I feel like pamper myself and decided to order the most expansive bento set in this restaurant. Ths set cost about $80++ comes in a very beautiful round japanese box and the portion is I was told good for 2 pax. But I manage to finish it alone. The box contained grill eel, sashimi, tempura, stewed chicken, salad and sushi. The sashimi is fresh and the grill eel is tasty. I think it is worth paying for this premium set. However the waiting time for them to prepare this set is quite long. I waited about 45 mins.  continue reading

Rakuzen is a pretty nice place, looks quite classy. Surprisingly the lunch/dinner sets are priced decently. The ala carte menu is more expensive, but not rocket high. Needless to say, we all ordered set dinners, being the first visit and less the hassle of browing through the ala carte menu...Beef Teppanyaki Set - $18++The set came with teppanyaki beef with bean sprouts, chawanmushi, an appetizer, garlic rice, miso soup and a dessert ( watermelon with Konnyaku Jelly). I said this was rather worthwhile! ^_^If you super big appetite, you can top up the dinner set with a plate of 6 sushi or sashimi, and the total price is approximately $25++ ( I cant really remember, should be more or less around $25++).The beef cubes were really chewy. On a side note, I went back Rakuzen second time and ordered again, the beef teppanyaki set. Hey, dun say I'm boring person okay. I'm just being very loyal... Keke.Anyway, I find the beef cubes were slightly harder aka overcooked, so the standard is not very consistent lahOrders of my friends.... Nabeyaki Set -$16This was ordered by my fren. Similarly, it came with chawanmushi, a side dish, fruit and miso soup.Unagi Set - $18Erm, my friend ordered the set with the top up of sashimi, cant really remember whether the price is before or after the top up. Dun blame me if I got the price wrong! =pWe unanimously agreed that the unagi was HUGEEEE... The chef so generous hor? HhahaTo read more and view photos, please visit http://fun-hideout.blogspot.sg/2010/08/rakuzen-millenia-walk.html continue reading

Across so many choices of Japanese Restaurant, Rakuzen was the one delivered top-notch typical cuisine which using finest ingredients. Experienced the food there, I recommended it to my friends. Comprehensive menu with many choices in Sushi, Sashimi, Fried and Grilled section, they were within middle-ranged price. Five kinds of Sashimi in total, it was $25.00. They said they were all Air-flown Fish from Japan, that’s why the freshness was guaranteed. Tried each of them, I believed so.Special for us, the chef drawn a Crab there. Just because my friend requested, it was very cool right? Soft shell Crab VS Cartoon version Crab, we were so excited. Sushi appeared nice and tasted great. My friend’s expectation towards the food was quite high, thankfully, it did not disappoint us. continue reading

This is my first time to Rakuzen actually. I always have high expectation of Sashimi as i used to hate raw fish ( if they are not fresh, the meat is very yucky and fishy). so to me, sashimi must be very fresh for me to return to the restaurant again! Rakuzen's sashimi is pretty fresh but the food is slightly more expensive. their sushi is pretty good. There are many other dishes that we ordered but i will want to share with the fav 2 of all we ordered that day here.Tako Wasabizuke - the wasabi is not too strong and the octopus is super fresh without the fishy smell. i love the dragon sushi most. =) the prawn is very fresh and taste heavenly with the mango slice!OverallFood : *** ( the food is pretty fresh)Price : ****Customer Service : ***Will I go again? Maybe if I am around the corner and I am craving for Japanese food =)For full review and more photos, please visit http://princessmic80.blogspot.sg/2013/08/of-japan-good-times-rakuzen.html continue reading
