[Chilli Crab]
The sweet and spicy sauce was like a flavour party to our taste buds - there were hints of egg, ketchup and even ginger flower! Besides complementing the fresh crab, it also went really well with a bowl of white rice, but the real Singaporean way is to pair with fried mantous!

[BBQ Sambal Stingray]
This was my first time trying stingray and the unique meat texture totally caught me off guard - it kind of melted in my mouth, but was still firm at the same time. A bit spicy, but still highly recommended!

[Rong Guang’s Signature Wings]
Crispy, juicy, tender - would you believe me if I told you that I ate 5 pieces all by myself?

P.S. Although they have been around since 1985, Joe told us they only moved to this new location a year ago after closing their previous store which was frequented by many celebrities.

Stingray seemed to have shrunk and only the surface sambal was hot, the insides were cold - one wonders if they'd even bothered to heat up the hot plate. Certainly didn't sizzle like it did before in Alexandra village. Prawn rolls were edible but over fried.
Look around the tables at gluttons by the bay and you'll realise that a lot of tourists are having this stalls Chilli crab instead. Not sure if the stall promotes it instead but we really miss the good ol' yummy stingray of before.

The FoodI ordered Sambal Stingray and a plate of their Signature Noodles. The Sambal Stingray is superb and the sambal chilli is spicy and very tasty. The Food
I ordered Sambal Stingray and a plate of their Signature Noodles. The Sambal Stingray is superb and the sambal chilli is spicy and very tasty. The stingray is BBQ till the meat is nice and juicy. The sambal chilli sauce goes extremely well with the stingray but it can be quite spicy for those who do not take spicy food. Their Signature Noodles looks and tastes like Hokkien Mee but the only difference is that they added fresh clams into the dish. The noodle is delicious as it has absorbed the goodness of the seafood ingredients like prawns, sotong, eggs, bean sprouts and clams. The sambal chilli which they used for the Singray also complements well with the noodles, enhancing more flavour and spiciness to the dish!

The Price
Reasonably priced at $20++ for the whole bill

Overall
I find that the food is pretty good and for BBQ lovers out there, you can check out this place!

I ordered their seafood fried rice & it have the wok hei flavour with their sambal belacan that goes with the rice perfectly. For side dish we ordered sambal sotong-loaded with onions ,fresh, springy & tender, not chewy or overcooked at all, pork rib-the outside was crispy yet the pork was still tender, the sauce had just the right balance of flavours. Not too sweet or sour. The dusting of sesame seeds topped off one of the best versions of this dish I’ve had in a while.Overall i rate 8/10

A month back, I brought my friends to Rong Guang BBQ Seafood as we were craving for......SAMBAL STINGRAY!

Having been there before on several occasions with my family, I decided to introduce this restaurant to my friends who are huge fans of seafood, especially stingray.

The sambal stingray was served with a generous amount of sambal as well as onions and lady fingers on the top for decoration.

The meat was succulent and juicy and tasted great. However I feel that the sambal could be made spicier so as to give an added kick to it.

For the cost and generous portion, I would still say this is worth a try. Sambal lovers however might be a tad bit disappointed by the non-spicy sambal!

To celebrate my mum's birthday on Sunday, my family and I went to Rong Guang BBQ Seafood which is located at Alexandra Village Food Centre.

We have been there on several occasions before and the food has never failed to satisfy us. Instead of ordering our usual dishes such as Sambal Kangkong, we decided to give the Prawn Rolls a try and boy, was it good!!

The Prawn Rolls were fried well and was very crispy and it was stuffed with minced prawns and pork which was definitely a good combination as it was very juicy. It also came with a sweet sauce at the side. However, I'm not a huge fan of the Prawn Rolls in the sweet sauce and prefer eating it on it's own.

In total, we ordered 4 dishes and it only came up to a grand total of $38 for the 4 of us. For such generous portions and great food, it is definitely very reasonable and worth a try!

Rong Guang BBQ Seafood! Other than the place being isolated, the food is great! We had cereal prawns, hot plate deer meat as well as kai lan veggie with rice. The prawns were really good! Nicely fried to make it crunch yet sweet. The deer meat has a super nice gravy which was slightly salty. Goes so well even with plain white rice. Yummy!

This coffee shop is usually rather empty during lunch time. However, it's a different story when the sun is down. At night, the whole coffee shop turns lively with the slow oldies music repeating loudly through an amplifier and people comes in big group to patronize this rather famous BBQ Seafood stall.

As only my boyfriend and I am eating. We only ordered two dishes, Sambal Stingray and Sambal Kang Kong. The stall assistant keep asking whether it's enough for us or not and prompted us to order more dishes. However, we insisted it's enough. The waiting time was not very long and the dishes were served after a few minutes.

Their Sambal Stingray is their signature dish and is a MUST TRY! Served on a banana leaf, the fish meat is tender, soft and and tasty. I wonder how they keep the fish so fresh. Plenty of their homemake sambal chili was spread across the whole stingray and it's just enough. The sambal chili is not spicy and have a unique taste.

For their sambal kang kong, it's quite a worth trying dish too. The kang kong is crunchy and you can even taste the dried shrimp in their belachan chili.

Thumbs up for this stall. Great place to hang out for late dinner.

Fried Tofu with Special Sauce - Nicely fried soft tofu with darn good sauce!
Black Pepper Beef Kway Tiao - Spicy and springy feel! Beef was okay though
BBQ Stingray - The highlight of the day! Must Try! Solid chilli! Fresh stingray!
Balachan Kang Kong - their Balachan lacks the punch but is good overall
Mixed Stew - nothing much
Paper Chicken - chicken was so so and abit too saltish for my liking

Get their attention or else you'll be waiting endlessly, the crowd's always there!
