I have heard a lot from friends regarding this café. As I am in the area, I decide to pay it a visit. It is at the School of Business area within NUS. As it is late, there is not much people in the café. A number of dishes on the menu is not available as they are only for lunch. I can see people relaxing while watching the news on television. At the counter, there is rows of cakes on display. But as I have not had my dinner yet, I decide to order something filling. After placing order at the counter, a number is given where my main course will be sent to me. Remember to collect your drink at the counter before leaving for your table. The well known Hazelnut Latte comes in 3 different sizes : small, middle and large. I order a small one which costs $3.60. Looks great with the leaf art on top of the cuppa. But there is no great smell of coffee. There is no hint of hazelnut in the taste too. More like a normal cup of coffee instead. For main, I am having Seafood Aglio Olio which costs $5.80. It tastes a bit salty on certain parts, even after I have tossed a bit before eating. The shrimps and grilled fish look a bit dried up.Overall it is a place that serves cheap and average food in a relaxing air-con environment. continue reading

Reedz Cafe is like most cafes in tertiary institutions. It caters to 2 types of crowd, the chillax-ing (chill and relax) ones and also people who are dining in. That said, they have cushion chairs with coffee tables as well as the standard tables and chairs for the dine-in crowd. On my last visit to Reedz Cafe, i ordered the Chicken Carbonara and Hazelnut Coffee. For the latter, I could hardly taste the hazelnut. It was as if I had ordered coffee. As for the pasta, it has a nice serving but it wasn't as creamy as I had liked it to be! Quite bland in my opinion.Overall I had visit again because the food is served at reasonable prices, and they have some interesting items on their menu such as Tomyum seafood crepe. It also features a nice and cozy environment to chill out with friends. continue reading

I had the mushroom and cheese crepe at reedz cafe for the second time and was slightly disappointed this time round as I remember it to be much fuller and tastier the other time. The cheese wasn't the thick kind and was slightly watery.. The ingredients were normal and there was nothing special about the crepe either. Gotta give them effort for the presentation though (see pictures) and I like that they serve their food with sides to complete the meal. In my opinion, Reedz is great if you are sick of canteen food and want to pay slightly more for more "premium" food, but I'd recommend that you save that money and get their drinks instead. I didn't get drinks during this visit but their coffee really worth it for its quality and I've heard great things about their iced lemon tea too! continue reading
