wife had a groupon that was expiring. son was in town & he loved burgers. so we arranged to have 3pax lunch at relish burgers by wild rockets at cluny court on 4.8.2015.^^

i don’t mind burgers. they are not ranked anywhere in my priority though. the last time i had relish burger was with wife at serangoon gardens in dec2014, also by way of groupons. haha!

place was bright & pleasant. quite well patronised maybe because of groupon discounts?

wife ordered a prawn turnip salad. it was very good. prawns were very fresh. salad was refreshing & tangy, very appetising.

wife & i shared a wild rocket burger. it is true that the burger is excellent. charred outside, medium rare & moist inside, very nice flavours with peppers & mustard & onions.

son ordered the popular blue cheese & william pear burger. it was very good too. the blue cheese left a very nice lingering after taste.

the last time we liked the deconstructed strawberry cheese cake. i even tried making one myself, which was quite good really but maybe not yet up for comparison.

that’s part of the fun for me eating out, tasting different food & making an assessment if i can reproduce w/o much hassle.

the lunch was S$77. somehow we could not locate the groupon so we paid the full amount & the restaurant (angie the lady we spoke to) agreed to let us used it the week after even though it would have expired. part of good service i guess.

Taiwan Lychee Beer - $13

This caught my eyes as I scanned through the drinks menu. They got both Melon & Lychee flavored beer but i decided the latter as i thought the taste was more distinct. End up, it was really good if you have a sweet tooth, can literally smell & taste the lychee!

Overall food was nothing to shout about, but great place to drink ands chill with friends.

While burgers can be pretty pricey for $19-$20+ for a beef burger, (my tofu burger was $18!), it's definitely worth a try!
They also serve mains like spaghettis (hae bee hiam spaghetti, anyone?) and a small range of desserts (speaking of which, you do not die happy until you've tasted the strawberry cheesecake)

The tofu burger is literally tofu with portobello and cheese -I really liked the grilled tofu! The texture was just right, and the flavours were subtle. Served with greens and relish (which was amazing, by the way -can you imagine if relish served crap relish?!
) and fries on the side, this was effortlessly delicious. I would have liked the portobello a bit more seasoned though -it had the raw, earthy mushroom taste that some may like? The fries were crispy on the outside and so fluffy on the inside. I just couldn't get enough of it! Super addictive.

Please do yourselves a favour and spend a good $9.80 on the deconstructed strawberry cheesecake. It's their signature dish and it's the best thing ever created in the dessert history of mankind. With the cheesecake middle and berry compote, the texture is balanced out by nuts and bits of graham crusts, finished off with a smooth dollop of cream on the top. Served up in a martini glass, this dessert gets you drunk with love. The euphoria from the creamy texture, salty biscuit and perfect richness hits the sweet spot. 5/5

We went there because we've heard about how good their burgers are! We've ordered the recommended Steak with Pear Chutney and Blue Cheese ($21) and a Breakfast Burger ($21)! The blue cheese burger tasted amazing, the combination of flavors burst in your mouth with every bite, literally. Oh, and a tip! Order your steak medium well and below, so that it's not too dry and it blends well with the melted blue cheese!

The breakfast burger was also yummy! It comes with an omelette and beef party, and the first bite actually tasted like MCD's sausage mcmuffin with egg, but when eaten together with the sautéed mushrooms, it tastes amazing!

I'd definitely try out the Charsiew Burger the next time I'm here!!

We ordered their famous Strawberry Cheesecake ($9.80) too! And it was served in a unique champagne glass and the crust and cake was all mashed into a glass! It tasted amazing, especially with the large strawberries chunks mixed with the cake and crust! Everyone should try this when they are here!

A nice environment to dine in with a few of your friends. I had the Relish signature burger and was glad at how it taste. Comes with a juicy beef patty, top with cheese and crispy bacon. Though the sesame bun is normal kind of burger bun, it is soft and not rock hard. I love the beef patty especially. So moist and juicy, one bite will not be enough. The bacon is crispy and not that oily too. Overall an enjoyable meal.

Relish is one of my favourite places. There is much thought and effort into presenting the food, but not at astronomical costs. As for the food itself, they are generally very good with very few misses. We had the local fusion food of char siew focaccia. This was good. The char siew meat itself was very tender and soft. The sauce was rather sweet but not overwhelmingly so. Excellent.

Such is the chore of picking the preferred burger when everything described is sooo tempting! I ended up ordering the classic Bacon & Cheese Burger ($19.90). I love the crisp from the bacons and the juiciness from the beef patty. Such a wonderful combination all happening in one fairly normal looking burger. I would have loved it more if the cheese was gooey and melting instead.

Gourmet burgers are no doubt nice to enjoy but it often comes at a price. Trust me, it took me quite some time before I overcome my fear of overpaying for one.

If that’s the case, opt for their pastas which I have to say is more than enough to make out of a meal. I am almost never a fan of eggplants, in fact, it’s one of those veggies I hardly have! So when I had Relish’s Aubergine Linguine ($16.60), I have no idea how enjoyable the dish could be! Add a little speck of pine nuts gave the whole pasta dish a nutty aftertaste which I daresay, is a good recommendation from me. Thumbs up for eggplants!

Relish by Wild Rocket is a nice place to head down for burgers or even a lazy weekend brunch. I wouldn’t mind dropping by another time provided my cheese is runny and gooey.

They have home baked cakes?! All the more I must drop by again!

However, the dessert was superb. It was the main reason why I brought my friends there. The strawberry cheesecake is really unique as its not like the traditional cheesecake. Very special and the cheese is delicious with the cream and fresh strawberry sauce. However, its rather expensive (9.80++) and the serving is a tad too small. However, no choice haha because its really very nice.

Overall I would recommend the dessert. The restaurant is a bit too expensive and the waiters' service not very good. And the burgers (which is supposed to be their special) not very impressive either.

I personally like the combination of medium rare beef patty, blue cheese and poached pear hidden underneath of the beef. The sweetness of the pear was delightful.

The Breakfast Burger was accompanied with sauteed mushrooms, baked beans and an omelete above the pork patty.

Overall, i would think it is a little tad costly for burgers however, the portions were large. And i am a huge fan of brunches, hence, i won't mind spending more for a good hearty brunch.

I would think must tries are the milk shakes.

Setting - nice place on the 2nd floor of Cluny Court. Had a wander in the Botanic Gardens and ended up here. Clean, tidy place. Nice space. Came at dinner time on Sunday.

Service - staff seemed rather disorganised and harried. Not much smiles much around here. They do their best to serve and help you but it doesn't feel like service so much as disgruntled obligation.

Water does not get topped up.

For some reason the burger came out cold. Cold burgers are a huge turn-off.

It is obvious that this is a highly disorganised place with unhappy staff running around and not being able to get their act together. Why are they so disorganised?

There is no salt and pepper on the table.

The bill payment and order taking was pretty quick.

Value - bad. 180gm Bacon and Beef burger cost $18++. It came out SO SMALL. We've never paid so much for such a small, cold, burger before. The burgers at Carl Jr are at least bigger and came out hot!

We ordered extra guacamole which turned out to be not guacamole, but just looked like mashed avocado and had no taste of avocado at all.

Also had a strawberry shake for $9.50++ (??) Why is a milkshake so expensive (even if it has a couple of "fresh" strawberries in it)? It was half the size of the shake at Everything With Fries and cost almost double. Had a Thai Chicken Salad which was just a few strips of chicken breasts and some shaved cucumber/papaya and s sprinkling of green mango. Not a satisfying meal at all.

What's with the ++? Really hate that. Fatboy's doesn't have that and they have better food and service! It doesn't say on the menu the prices are subject to ++ and we were charged ++. Very irritating.

Food/Drink - The Beef and Bacon burger was atrocious. When we bit into the meat, blood dripped out of the buger. It's supposed to be cooked to medium, not medium rare! Worst of all, the burger was COLD! Cold, blood dripping burger. The patty was not tasty or adequately seasoned at all. The size was so small we were shocked. A burger patty is usually at least 200gm. Of all the burger places we've been to in Singapore, this has to be the worst burger place. It's like a kid's meal. We had to choke down the burger unhappily.

The burger came with deep fried chips, which were hot and crunchy and hollow. Another bad sign for a burger place. Chips that are crispy outside and hollow inside means they are overcooked and bad quality to begin with.

The burger was so tasteless, we tried to save it by slathering on the guacamole. This did not help at all since the guacamole had no taste! We tried to douse the chips in tomato sauce but that didn't help either.

Some parts of the bacon and the top of the patty was charred. Charred food have a bitter, black carbon taste which is NOT GOOD.

The chips were UNSALTED and yet there was NO salt and pepper on the table! BAD BAD BAD.

The burger and chips only gets a rating of 3/10. We could have made better burgers at home. It's totally not worth $18++. It's worth at most $12 nett, considering the location of the place.

The Strawberry Milkshake was alright. Tastes good, not super fantastic. Had a few bits of "fresh" strawberries in it. It came in a tall skinny glass. At least the shake here is better than the one at Prive Bakery Cafe.

The Thai Chicken Salad was refreshing but it's only made of about 4 ingredients. The sauce on the side was good but there's too much bird's eye chillies in it. Did not taste fantastic or memorable. Could have made better at home. There's peanuts under the whole pile. Peanuts were unroasted - therefore did not taste that good.

Chicken breast strips were cold and dry. Ribbons of cucumber/papaya "poofed" up the dish so it looked like there's lots of stuff on the plate. The small sprinkling of green mango on the top did not add any flavour because it was only a SMALL sprinkling of mango. Pretty tasteless dish. Even with the sauce - which mostly tasted like hot chillies.

Will NOT return as it did NOT meet our standards at all. We don't have super high standards. But we do have standards!

In fact, my companion was so peeved, everytime I mentioned Relish, his face turned dark and unhappy.

i wished more thought were put in the burgers. my beef was medium rare and it was the best, and only good part of the entire plate. everything else was really plain - the buns were dry and could use a little toasting, the fries could do with a little bit of seasoning (salt, pepper, chilli powder, seaweed powder, the like.). the bacon was also more than a little overcooked.

boyfriend had his beef well done and i thought it was rather dry, but he gave Relish 8/10 so to each their own i guess. his only grouch was that the veges used in his burger were terribly bitter.

Bf found this place on the internet and decided to bring me over after work to have our dinner.

It was quite a difficult place to find in the mall, especially after a tiring day when my eyes are already x.X half closed. Upon reached, I realized that the whole restaurant is quite dim with ember lights. Sorry, but i'm more of a 'ambience' person rather than 'filling up my stomach' person.

Service crews were helpful -brought us to our seats and gave us menus. Both of us ordered burgers (his chicken and mine beef). Burgers are their specialty and its a must-try no matter what.

Just look at the bread with the layers of patties and veggies in between. Nicely 'kiap' together, coupled with chips (my all time favorite) and served altogether on a plate.

While I was happily munching on my burger, Bf let out a 'shriek' and commented that his chicken wasnt well cooked. There was a small portion that was raw. BF showed the manager and was compensated with another plate of super well cooked chicken burger. On top of us, we had a complimentary dessert! A very good and tactful gesture but i believe its like this everywhere. 'Raw-ness' happens and its a matter of each individual's threshold to swallow or to complain it.

Well, I would recommend you to try their burger once cuz at least you have tried a different kind of burgers other than the usual Mc-chicken, Ramily burger, or Mos-burger! Its hard to find a good burger nowadays. Given a chance, i'll still go to this place (in the morning)!

There is a 2/ 3 course set lunch priced at $20++ and $22++ respectively. You can opt for either the burger or the pasta dish of the day.

Black cod burger ($15++)

*All burgers comes with either side salad/ fries
The Black cod burger is a new item to the menu. The black cod fillet is battered and deep-fried till golden brown. It was crispy on the outside & juicy on the inside. I just felt that the cod fillet was a little bland. The battered black cod fillet is sandwiched between the sesame buns ( warm and crusty ) , top with shredded lettuce and gherkins spread. You can ask for some dipping sauces ( chilli, mustard, mayo or tomato ) for your fries or eat it with the burger.
Battered cod fish with gherkins
*Crsipy skin + yummy gherkins spread…. delicious!!!*

Verdict: The buns were good , warm and crusty , patty is unique ( depends on what you order) the ambience is great and the service is fantastic! Worth a visit if you don’t mind paying $15 over bucks for a burger.
