Saw this packet of Almond sticks at an offer price of $2.00 from this Ritz Apple Strudel New Outlet and decided to buy and try it. Staffs are friendly here and the stall is very neat and clean. This crunchy sticks are really crunchy and very light in texture. Would have been better if lesser sugars are topped on it which is too sweet to me. But the fragrant butter flavour certainly make this snacks really delicious and make me want to crave for more. Not too bad actually. continue reading

My mum bought home an apple strudel for me. I think Ritz Apple Strudel is quite a long establishment, and have many other outlets around. They also have durian strudel, eclairs, cream puffs, etc. Their apple strudel is pretty average - crust was flaky, and the sweetened apple bits within weren't overly sweet. There also isn't too much cream. However, Renaldo's Apple Strudel at Eastwood is still the best. continue reading

Having a craving for something sweet for tea-break, I decided to try the durian strudel from Ritz newly opened outlet at Tampines Mall just outside the NTUC Fairprice. These saccharine sweet treats filled with flaky brim with delicious goodness of different flavours. Not to mention their signature apple strudel is always up to standard and as good as ever.Unfortunately the durian strudel was a great disappointment. The durian filling has turned watery and mushy though the pungent smell of the durian is still present. Despite the pastry being flaky with a crispy crust, the durian taste weird and I believed the mini durian strudel I bought could be from yesterday’s batch. Durian has to be served freshed preferably with the pulps just like the apple chunks.Or maybe the full loaf of durian strudel are made from superior quality durian whereas the mini ones they just plonk the durian custard ingredient with a lower grade of durian pulps.Never will I ever purchase another mini durian flavour strudel from them priced S$5.60 which is one of the more expensive range and yet the quality is below standard.I should have brought it back and demanded a refund or exchange for something else. continue reading
