My brother bought this home for me, and I've always liked cakes for dessert/supper. Rive Gauche has cakes which are rather reasonably priced, so it's a good place to get birthday cakes as well. Their sliced cakes cost around $5+ on average. I tried the longan one, which looks very cute and pretty with a little ribbon tied around it. The mousse has a subtle taste of longan/almond, which reminds me of almond tofu. It's also not too creamy or overly sweet. The mango mousse cake was also alright, but not very unique. continue reading

I have always wanted to try the Guanaja from Rive Gauche and was so happy when my friends got it for my birthday! The chocolate sponge cake sits on a layer of crispy biscuit and in between lies the bittersweet chocolate mousse. I have a weakness for dark chocolate and this is sooooooooooo good, the sponge cake is soft and the sweetness is just right for me, one slice is not enough!!! continue reading

Well, They have made the right choice for when it comes to cakes, I daresay no one knows them best! Of course being in Tampines, means being pampered by a a wide variety of bakery shops! I don't wish to go through each and every single one of them for I have my preferred shop. Let me give you a hint. It's starts with the letter R."I want that Oreo Cheese cake!" That was all I remembered before I plunged into my wallet... At $38.00, I swear it was all worth the calories. On top is a smooth, creamy cheesecake that is absolutely packed with grinded Oreo cookies bits while the top is a thick, substantial oreo crust. It was rich though I wished the cookies bits hidden in the cake was much bigger just to enjoy the dessert better. continue reading

Attracted by their unique design for their sliced cakes and decided to buy it for a try. Unfortunately most of their cakes does not suit my taste bud. Some how their cakes taste quite different from most of the bakery shops. Not much sponge and with lots of mousse and cream on it. My verdict: 6/10 continue reading

We bought the mango cake to celebrate a friend's birthday. We had difficulty choosing the different cakes, as all of them look so pretty and delicious. We eventually decided on this since it is the best seller, size 6.There are many layers in the cake - mousse, sponge cake, mango slices. You can certainly see the effort put in to bake this cake. The mango mousse was very smooth and has a strong mango taste. Mango slices are sweet and juicy. As a whole, the cake is not too sweet. It is pretty addictive, and many of us wanted a second slice. Best seller indeed! I would certainly come back to this bakery. The next time, I will most likely order another cake to try. continue reading
