I have previously dismissed this place to be pretty and without substance, but looks like I am proven wrong, cause I enjoyed the food very much here! Good food and great for people watching, this might be my new hangout place with my colleagues after work! I did read other reviews where they have mentioned great coffee too. Hope you will enjoy this place as much as I did!This was my order and it s really good in terms of serving and portion size. You know what would be even better in this caesa

 Surprisingly good. I hate dry cakes, but this was moist and flavour-some!

Tucked over at Alexandra Retail Centre, there lies a room for all those working at the offices around that area to unwind and chill. It is none other than Room.Coffee.Bar which has quite good coffee, cakes and other items in the menu inclusive of pastas and sandwiches.The theme of the cafe is very eco-centric and mainly has colours white, brown and green. What drew my attention was the corner of the cafe with the green and brown wall layers with artificial grass. The quote was very meaningful

 The theme of the cafe is very eco-centric and mainly has colours white, brown and green. What drew my attention was the corner of the cafe with the green and brown wall layers with artificial grass. The quote was very meaningful too and I thought this cafe will be a fantastic place to unwind over some coffee or even have a casual meeting over some bites.

 To perk myself up, I had the Cappuccino ($5.50) which came with a messy latte art. That aside, the aroma of the cappuccino was there and it tasted smooth on the palate. Without any additional sugar or creamer, it was great by itself but it will have suit my liking better with a thicker layer of froth.

 The Red Velvet Cake ($6.50) is one of their popular favourite. Layered with a cream cheese icing on the top, it complements well with the cocoa base cake with a sweet and sour tinge of flavour. The cake wasn't too dry and has the right texture too.

 My personal favourite, the ROOM Carrot Cake ($6.50) is their signature cake which is created using their own secret recipe. Topped with a luscious layer of cream cheese icing and decorated with walnuts and apricots. Eaten together with the warm and moist carrot cake, it was seventh heaven for me and perfect with a cup of coffee/tea.

The staffs here were really attentive to bring me the menu and serve up water when I got seated. I must say that for such a small cafe like this, the service is excellent and the staffs were friendly too. Recommended place to visit time and again for coffee and cakes.

On weekdays, they have set lunch promotion too. So if you're working around the area, you might like to visit Room.Coffee.Bar.

This cafe that was previously known as Room With a View, and now renamed to ROOM Coffee Bar after shifting to Alexandra Retail Centre (ARC) at Labrador Park MRT, is a open concept cafe that is nice to chill at. The location may be a bit out of the way, but it attracts many OLs and working crowd during the lunch time. Other than time, it's pretty quiet which makes it a nice place to have a cup of coffee and enjoy some me time.

The carrot cake was not too bad. It's more towards the dense side and its generous with its walnuts (which I would gladly do without). I thought that the sweetness level was pretty alright but when I was halfway through the cake, I find the icing getting sweeter and sweeter.

Overall, it's a pretty nice place and they provide free wifi too. Hope to be back to try more of their food and coffee.

Do you know where is ARC (Alexandra Retail Centre)? It is located at Labrador Mrt Station and just along the Pasir Panjang stretch! I guess this place caters mainly to the working adults there as most shops close early. Spinelli there closes at 7pm, if I remember correctly! One fine day, we decided to visit this place and have a food hunt and so we found ROOM. It is a cosy little cafe tucked at a corner of ARC. I really liked the simple decorations of the place.

Oh yes, I need to mention the most important point! There is actually one-for-one for the pastas on weekday nights, from 6 pm onwards. I am not sure how long the promotion would last for, so if you are interested, catch it soon!

Spicy Prawn Linguine $17. Well, they had the description -ask for more chili padi if you dare- and so I was anticipating this dish to be spicy. I guess I was pretty disappointed when it turned out to be not spicy at all. The taste was okay and there were quite a few prawns around! I like the rocket vegetables scattered on top of the pasta!

Prawn Laksa Pesto Spaghetti $14. Well, this is the best of all 4 pastas in my opinion. But, it is really up to individual. It was really savoury and I finished it to the last bit. Really worth a try, especially if you like your food with a little more zest and spice!

All in all, I would say ROOM serves up pretty mediocre pastas but the price is really a bargain, especially if you visit it during its one-for-one promotion. One person only need to pay around $7 bucks! And one more thing, it runs on a self-service concept so do not expect to be served and waited on.

ROOM coffee. bar also serves up brunch on both weekdays and weekends at pretty affordable prices! Eggs benedict is only at $11. I would certainly take time out on a Saturday morning to try the breakfast at ROOM if I am around the vicinity!
