Seafood Paradise's outlet at the Singapore Flyer is the most well appointed among its four outlets. Coupled with its central location and pocket friendly prices of its ala carte dishes, even diners with reservations can expect to wait awhile to be seated on weekends and holidays. If I am to order just one dish to go with rice, it has to be their signature Fish Head Curry Casserole $18++ which is available only for lunch on a while stocks last basis. The fresh red snapper fish head is cooked to a family recipe with lots of coconut milk, okra, eggplant and deepfried beancurd pockets (taupok), making it a balanced one dish meal with protein and fibre. The rich and scrumptious gravy goes perfectly with a bowl or two of piping hot plain rice, or with a basket of deepfried Chinese buns (mantou) to mop up the concentrated gravy. The casserole is served atop a portable stove to keep the curry simmering and any (unlikely) fishy smells at bay. The portion is big enough for three or even four diners if no other dishes are ordered. However it can serve up to eight to ten aif other meat and seafood dishes are ordered as well.We ordered the prawn roll (ngoh hiang) $8.90++ and the cuttlefish with kangkong $14.90++ as appetizers to be shared among the four of us. Together with the fish head curry and rice, we had a very satisfying meal. continue reading

This is one of my favourite dish from this Chinese restaurant, and I urge everyone to try it if you have never try before. The prawns have already remove the shelfs which make it easier to eat. Generous amount of salted egg yolk are coated all over the prawn meat before bring to deep fry. It is very fragrant and not as salty as what I have expected it to be. Once you have the first piece, you will surely be craving for the second or even the third piece. continue reading

Visit http://www.celestialdelish.com/2012/07/singapore-food-festival-2012.html for a detailed review and more photos.I didn't literally visit the restaurant but had tried their food during the SFF 2012 at Waterfront Promenade @ Marina Bay.Among the delectable creations is their Chilli Crab & Creamy Butter Crab (made from secret ingredients) that is well-received by tourists and local.Specially created by Seafood Paradise for SFF - Seafood Platter @ $36.90. With a Choice ofChilli CrabCreamy Butter CrabBoth seafood platter consists of chilli/creamy butter crab, stri fried geoduck with asparagus in xo sauce, crisp-fried prawns tossed with salted egg yolk, deep fried coral trout cooked in Nyonya-style, and a seafood fried rice.Since this is the highlight of the dish, we decided to try the Creamy Butter Crab @ $36.90I adore the lip smackingly flavorful sauce. Its very unique, mildly sweet, with nice fragrant of curry leave, pepper, and chilli spicing up the milky gravy. But I didn't had the crab because they didn't break the shell properly. The crispy thin crust prawns dredged in salted egg yolk was awesome, its like wrapping the prawn in a whole salted egg yolk!I loves the Geoduck with asparagus in xo sauce. Nice fragrant of dried shrimps and chilli. A tad spicy to me, but I think most people will find it very spicy. A very appetizing dish, wish they had give a bigger portion.Deep fried coral trout was a tad dry and overcooked. But the sauce was tasty with a combination of spicy, sweet and tangy flavours.Seafood fried rice has scallops and shrimp topped with shrimp roe was fragrant.Innovative combination that will tickle the taste buds! MUST TRY! continue reading

Went there with my family to try out their signature dish Creamy Butter Crab ,it was pretty crowded, mostly big family tables. It took quite awhile before someone finally came to take our orders. I just adore the Butter Crab at Seafood Paradise. Creamy buttery sauce that's was finger-licking good, poured over a fresh meaty crab. I used the fried mantou to mop up the sauceThe crab is fresh and it's flesh is tender and toppled with sauce taste nice . continue reading
