I was probably the last customer before the stall closed for the day. This stall serves Mee Rebus, Mee Goreng, Mee Siam, Lontong, Mee Soto and Mee Kueh.I wanted to order Lontong for a simple dinner. I was informed by the friendly Auntie that no more fried tau kwa left. She offered to replace it with a piece of fried fishcake. I happily accepted such a change.A few pieces of rice cake were served with a generous bits of curry vegetable consisting long beans and cabbage together with a hard boiled egg for $2.50. It was topped with bits of coconut flakes before served. The taste of curry was rather delightful. It has got an intense taste of coconut milk to give it a creamy texture with a minimum level of spiciness. Those long bean and cabbage were cooked well to give it the desired softness. The rice cake tasted moist and went well with the sauce.Such simple taste could be such an enjoyment. continue reading
