Located like 3 minutes walk away from Clarke Quay Mrt exit A is Settler's cafe, it is a board game cafe. There has to be at least a hundred board games on the shelf! We came at 12pm on a public holiday just as they opened, so we were the only customers, hence we pretty much could pick any game we wanted to play. This Loot game is pretty fun, it also only lasts for 15-20minutes.If you're low on energy, pick up ugly doll, and everyone will be heated up and screaming UGLY UGLY UGLY!!Gotta love the singapore edition of Taboo! We paid for a 3 hour game package that gave us free flow drinks during the 3 hours. But you cannot walk out to smoke with a drink in hand. The bottom rack of the fridge has green tea and water chestnut juice! The onion rings were nice, but dripping in oil.Really wished that there was more cheese on this. Hardly enough cheese for half the fries in this plate. For ice cream flavours, they had cookies n cream, passionfruit and baileys. Yes that's right. Settlers serves Baileys flavoured ice cream and it was delicious! I highly recommend that you try it!All in all, a great place to chill and go crazy playing board games with your friends or family. They have board games for all ages. The service was very friendly and our food came out in a reasonable time. The plates and empty drink cans were cleared without us asking for any assistance.Downside : there is no wifi lol, a typical norm for most cafes these days. continue reading

I decided to come to Settlers Cafe to chill out and catch up with my friends as we could enjoy the food while playing some entertaining games. I ordered a smoked duck breast with tomato based pasta and it tasted yummy! The texture of the duck breast was not too soft or too hard and was just nice. The pasta tasted average. Overall, we had a great time eating the food and playing the games. continue reading

My friend bought a deal from deal.com.sg few months back for 4 sets of meal and 3 hours of game deal @ S$42.45. Settlers' cafe is located near boat quay and it is walking distance from clark quay MRT station. The deal consists of 1 main course + 1 bistro drink+ 1 soft drink or 1 scoop of ice-cream and 3 hours of gaming. The place is cosy and the cabinet was full of games to choose from. We were spoilt with the choices.Anyway, the foods that we (3 of us) ordered. Smoked duck breast pasta which is shown as below photo. The portion is quite decent per pax.As for the pasta base,we choose aglio oglio. We also have fish and chips for main course. No much comment of the fish and chips. Cripsy on the outer and soft fish texture.Lastly we had cajun chicken with mushroom sauce. The sauce is surprisingly good an goes well with plain white rice.As for our dessert, we ordered a scoop of ice-cream (peppermint and chocolate flavor). The serving time is quite long to us as we did not indulge with gaming. No wonder games are available in the cafe so that the customers can enjoy playing games while waiting for the foods are served. The staffs are equip with game knowledge so that customers can consult for guidance. If you are opting for friends' bonding and gaming session, why not you try to drop by the cafe? continue reading

My friends and I had a simple birthday celebration for my friend over here. We made a streetdeal coupon purchase and it was really cheap at approximately $15 per head with drinks, food, ice cream and 3 hours of games. There are hundreds of games for you to choose from and the waiter or waitress will try their best to explain the rules of the games for you patiently. It will be good to make a reservation if you have a big group of friends going together, to reserve a better seat with sofa. Worth the try! (especially with groupon/deals) continue reading

Fish and ChipsThe dory fillet was breaded and crispy. Not too oily, which is good. The fries were the usual soft crinkle fries which tasted a little cold and not crispy at all. The salad was a little stingy with the coleslaw sauce. Otherwise an average plate of Fish & Chips, just don't expect too much from a boardgame establishment. Go for the fun and games, not for the food. continue reading
