The minute you walk in, you will notice the buffet of sushi and fried snacks! My favourite being the shishamo, pregnant fish! I love those! They were freshly fried. The sushi as many have mentioned are quite bad... You have to see them to believe it.. The rice is hard...  The shabu shabu is not too bad.. You get to choose two soup bases. We choose suki yaki and chicken.. It was okay.. The dressed up. Pretty looking tai tai at the cashier suddenly got her handbag and up and left around 1pm, when the lunch crowd started pouring in and the two Malay girls who were busy putting food on the conveyor belt and clearing tables threw a fit! I mean I don't blame them, if my boss walked out on me at a busy period... That's not nice at all... But overall the food was okay for a $15 nett priced groupon per person. continue reading

The sushi there was the worst sushi I have ever eaten in my entire life. Even someone who has no experience in making sushis can serve better sushis than that. The grains of rice were so sticky and clumped up together that it could not break apart. One can only bite them into lumps of "rice" to separate them. They didn't taste fresh either and the variety was extremely limited. For an eatery with the name sushi in it, they can change their signboard already. The hot food selection was not impressive but still passable since the main star was the steamboat. We got the Tom Yum and Chicken soup base. The tom yum soup base was already very flavourful even without putting any ingredients in it. Thus, the soup was quite salty by the time we were halfway through our meal.I really like the concept of having the food placed on the conveyor belt for the diners' convenience. However, as we were sitting at the corner, most of the food that came in our direction were the ones that were either not wanted by other diners or were in abundance. When I went to get ice-cream at the end of my meal, I saw a couple of food items (e.g. simple items such as mushrooms) that I had not seen on the conveyor belt before. When we were 3/4 into our meal, we only managed to get a plate of prawns because the people preparing the food only placed the other food in another direction. However, when I did request for them to place some prawns on the conveyor belt that was heading in our direction, they did so I have no complaints. We only managed to get a refill of our chicken soup when the it was near to drying up because they had no more stock and the server had forgotten about our request. Overall, the service could be more attentive. At the price of $26 for 2 pax (deal on groupon), you can give it a try but to pay for the full price, you can go somewhere better. Lousy steamboat but yummy cooked food - this is how I would describe my dining experience at this restaurant. The reason why I will feel that the steamboat is lousy os because the soup base is kinda bland and there is limited variety of raw food for steamboat. Most of the raw food is cheap food such as tofu, egg, vegetable, etc. There is meat but the meat doesn't look fresh. Luckily, the cooked food tastes quite good and hence, I don't mind visiting this place again. It serves my favourite tempura prawn and fried shisamo. continue reading

The shabu shabu buffet here is delightful delicious. Really love those fresh crunchy vegetables that served to us which make the soup base really sweet and nice after we added in. Love those round big pork meat balls as they are very compact, tender and bouncy. The crabsticks too are fresh and delicious too. The environment is very comfortable and very suitable to hold your gatherings with friends and family and have a nice lovely meal here. continue reading

I didn't realise that this is a halah steamboat when i stepped in and since we are alreay in the restaurant, we decided to try it. After looking through the menu, realise that my 'die die steamboat muz have" r not on the list! No pork belly and sotong balls! sob sob... Since my 2 brothers wanna try, i had no choice but to comply. This is the worst shabu shabu i had so far! haiz....Some fried snacks to start the meal. The potato salad isn't too bad. Here comes our broth with our 'selected' ingredients.Sushi are also on the list. Lucky i didn't order much. Salmon isn't fresh, sushi rice is soggy and seaweed isn't crispy. Disappointing!!!Another disappointing dish, chawamushi which doesn't taste like one. The ingredients are being place on conveyor belt, but the staff are very smart, the ratio of seafood or meat to veggie is approximately 1:5 and we have to wait super long for meat dish and all the while it's all those cheapskate food! lousy! The menu with lots of varieties. continue reading
