This place is great for people who likes buffet, but lazy to walk around. They have an ipad for you to choose what you want to eat 😋 and it will be served to you. The sashimi was also fresh. The only crab dish they have in the buffet came to me as a surprise - they were actually baby crabs that have been deep fried
The staffs were friendly and attentive, they proactively offered to check our orders that have not been served. To sum it up, it was a great dining experience : Shin Minori serves high quality Japanese cuisine
But if I come here again, most probably I won't go for the buffet. For the amount you're spending, and if you are willing to add a little bit more, perhaps you could get a buffet with more variety.

This casual Japanese diner offers wallet friendly All-you-can-eat Lunch and Dinner Ala Carte buffets. The buffet menu is definitely one of the most extensive ones I've seen, with more than 160 items to choose from! Fortunately, the restaurant has implemented a handy tablet ordering system where customers can browse the categorized food sections with ease, and place order for dishes online.

For the Ala Carte buffet menu, drinks and beverages are not included in the buffet prices, but complimentary ice water is served, and replenished, at every table. We started with some chilled juices while we ponder over what to order from that huge selection of food.

Apple juice & Lime juice $4.50++ ea.

The food arrived pretty quickly after order submission via the tablet. Most items are served in single portions (some in pairs), serving sizes are smallish which is good as we can order more variety to try.

Cucumber with soy bean paste

Overall, I enjoyed the Sashimi and sushi roll items the most. The raw seafood were extremely fresh, and the colorful Maki rolls actually tasted as good as they looked. Some grilled items were impressive too, the chicken meatballs and grill salmon were really good. The rest of the items were pretty standard in terms of taste.

The restaurant owner offered some of their in-house specialty dishes for us to try. The grilled yellow tail collar was excellent. This dish is not found in the menu and will be served complimentary to their special guests and regulars, based on availability. The other two dishes can be found in the Ala Carte menu.

Baked scallops

No dinner is complete without desserts, so we each ordered a scoop of Japanese flavor ice cream and sorbet. These are priced at $5.90++ per scoop, or $8.90++ for double scoop.

Mixed berries, Matcha azuki ice cream & Yuzu sorbet

Dinner at Shin Minori was a pleasant experience, the buffet spread is extremely impressive, with a reasonable price tag to boot. Definitely a great spot for big groups of friends or family gatherings, where everyone can find something they like to eat here. I would suggest to go for their fresh seafood items which are more worthy of the bucks you're paying.

Bathed in soft dim lights in a comfortable setting respledent of rich Japanese culture, Shin Minori was packed to the brim tonight with diners. We enjoyed the hot pot of tea served first, while placing our order at this all-you-can-eat, a la carte buffet restaurant.
It seemed rather fitting to start the meal off with Hiyayakko (chilled bean curd), a cold, smooth cube of delicacy that was sweetly fresh and tender to the touch, served with soft fish flakes and spring onions.
I had the Momo Sarada (peach salad) next, a tiny dish of delicacy formed by fresh greens and sweet peaches. I loved this item as I am a peaches fan; didn't detect any dressing but the salad was tasty on its own.
Then there were the Chawanmushi (steamed egg custard) and Kabocha Chawanmushi (pumpkin steamed egg custard). I thought that their chawanmushis were a little too watery / diluted, but the taste was rather good. The pumpkin one was sweet, redolent of pumpkin's flavor. Both contained chicken meat and gingko nut.
We had the Sashimi Moriwase (assorted raw seafood) - a platter of paradise. Their platter of salmon, swordfish, tuna, squid and snapper was rather fresh with bouncy textures and the soft sapid of seafood. We had a good time with this platter, and ordered more afterwards (salmon, swordfish and tuna).
There were many other items and variety of food. For more detailed information and photos, do visit:

This was my first time dining at Shin Minori. It is a japanese buffet style restaurant which offers a variety of food. I went with my friends for the lunch buffet which was from 11.30am to 2.30pm. The price per pax is: Adult S$32++ , Child S$22++ . The food is great, especially the salmon sashimi. However, as there is a great demand for the sashimi, it will be better if they were more efficient in replacing more sashimi on the counter. This is known as the maccha tofu. This is known as the maccha tofu. This is really special and is one of my favourite as it has maccha taste infused in the tofu! Recommended to try!

For the dessert, indeed they have a wide range of desserts! I love the cheesecake as it was soft and rich in cheese
The chocolate cake was really nice too!

This Japanese buffet was full when I visited with friends. The sashimi was fresh and generously sliced. Temaki hand rolls were nicely rolled with seaweed still crispy. But Tebasaki Yakitori (Grilled Chicken Wings) were not seasoned that well. This restuarant is worth a try but be prepared to go with an empty stomach (since it's buffet style) and make reservations in advance.

An ala carte jap buffet that has lots of stuff. Costs $36++ per person for dinner so it amounts to $42. Lots of different kinds of sushi, handrolls, etc; I tried the soft shell crab sushi, wasn't good as the soft shell crab was cold and wasn't crispy, so skip that. Many types of teppanyaki dishes available - like garlic fried rice (this was good), bean sprouts, etc etc. They also had yakitori - chicken, quail egg, mushrooms, etc. For fried food they had assorted tempura, which was alright. All in all a decent ala carte buffet spread, and service is prompt with the dishes served quickly.

Their sushi uses really soft and fragrant Japanese rice, that blend in well with the dry seaweed and the different types of fresh ingredients in it. At merely $36 per adult, is value for money and great venue for a simple outing with your love ones. As we were all in a hurry to rush back to work, we did not manage to take an photos during our dining here.

The Food
It has been a long time since I had Japanese buffet hence I had Ala-Carte buffet dinner with my family at this Japanese Restaurant called Shin Minori. Here's what I have ordered:

- Sashimi Moriwase
The Sashimi Moriwase has assorted Sashimi like Maguro, Shake, Hamachi, Taj, Makajiki, Tako and Ika. The Sashimi is fresh and the thickness of each slice is perfect, not too thick or thin. Most importantly, I am able to taste the sweetness of each of the seafood.

- Tebasaki
Tebasaki, also known as Chicken Wings is delicious and are grilled perfectly till the skin is crispy and fragrant.

- Agedashi Toufu
Their Agedashi Toufu is crispy on the outer crust and soft on the inside. The chicken broth goes well with the toufu giving the dish more Oomph!.

- Niku Jaga
This dish is Stewed Pork Belly with Potato and Carrot. The pork belly is very tender and it has absorbed the sweetness from the carrots. The carrots and potatoes are stewed till they are nice and soft and can even taste the natural sweetness of this fantastic combination.

The Price
Reasonably priced at $33++ with wide variety of food to choose from

Overall
I will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this!

I vividly remembered a good friend hosting a group of us over something we love lavishing our attention on; Fish sashimis. The apparent holy grail to some of my friends’ love for all things raw.

And it’s not just some cheap roadside sashimis but good and thick slabs of fresh fish cuts of a Japanese restaurant. The best part was we had a room all to ourselves and we just order whatever we feel like having if we still could spare a room or two.

Let’s not go into the bottles of sakes we down throughout the entire night as we feast like kings and queens of the medieval days. It was just a crazy night but the companions and the fun we had was nothing short of fond memories.

So when I’m celebrating my 20th birthday with this bunch of friends, I too wanted somewhere nice to spend some quiet time catching up with them. But it ain’t always easy hosting such a big group of friends for dinners much less a birthday dinner.

Buffet was definitely on my mind since everyone can eat whatever they want at anything for a fixed price. But where should the place be?

I search and thought about all the potential places but none could suit the dinner quite like Shin Minori at UE Square, Clark Quay. The place fits my budget (I can’t expect my friends to pay since I say I’m hosting right?) and we have somewhere private and away from the noisy crowd.

Once we settled down in our room which resemble a store room with tables and chairs stack by the side. Somewhat disappointing I must profess. It was such a pity that we couldn’t get the more spacious room since it was already reserved but for the free flow sashimis, I think everyone could just neglect the “sitting in a store room” dinner event.

First up was their complimentary side which were two fish heads sitting in a shallow dish of soy sauce. As with all fish heads, the best parts are always the eyes and cheeks. Even more enjoyable when the fish was fresh. Definitely setting the stage to impress us with the quality of their food.

Do note that the two fish heads are complimentary because we booked a room to ourselves.

From the fish heads we were digging in and lavished in praise, we move onto to main delights. The sashimis, the sushis and what else raw! Since Shin Minori is an ala carte buffet restaurant, all you need is to indicate what you want on their coloured menu lists and request to be delivered right to you! Now that’s having buffet on a whole new level!

With close 100 over different variety of dishes to choose from, it can be quite a hassle to ask around who wants what. Like I always say:

Just order everything! Don’t worry about wastage because someone will bound to love and enjoy it!

Almost everything was good but what I really enjoyed was their Kabocha Chawanmushi also known as pumpkin egg custard. The pumpkin taste gives an oomph! feel to the entire eating experience! Forget about your normal Chawanmushi and give this a try instead! I swear I downed a few cuppas that very night just to satisfy my cravings for eggs.

There were some stuffs that were really worth eating and there were some that weren’t but given the variety and the price ($39 per person for dinner), I think it’s a definitely Must-Try buffet that's worth your money!

If you ever find yourself having a craving for Japanese buffets, just do yourself a big favor and head down to Shin Minori.

But for me, I wonder when and where will be our next!

Service is really bad, as different table have different orders and we do not want to mix them up by confusing them we requested for them to note the different of our table but the service crew say cannot because we came in as one group, then i insisted and explained myself then he agrees upon it.

But in the end, food are just kept served but no one knows which table are the food suppose to be for, and we found ourselves having food that are what we order, service crew just puts the dish on the table and walk away without telling us what is that and who was it for.

Tori Yaki (see how burned they were..)

Potato Croquette (Very Nice)

Salmon with egg sauce (taste like non-spicy chili crab sauce)

Pork Belly yaki (not great)

Chawanmushi (Very nice, very smooth), there is a pumpkin sauce Chawanmushi too (picture not shown) very unique, as it increase the flavour to the steam egg.

Mini Crispy Crab (Nice and crunchy but the sharp edge of the crab craws will somehow poke ur mouth sometimes)

Prawn Tempura (Nice, one of the nicer ones)

Prawn Roll & Salmon Roll (as you can see on one of the pictures)

Pictures not shown,
Salmon Sashimi (quite fresh but quite small in pieces)

Soft Shell Crab Handroll (Not bad but a bit salty)

Pan fried Salmon in Teriyaki Sauce (Quite ok)

Salmon Handroll (instead of a slice of salmon, it's some minced salmon bits)

Wasabi Mayo Tori Karaage (the wasabi mayo did not covered the tori karaage fully)

Stir fried Beef with Spaghetti (sauce A little too sweet, but not bad though)

Sweet sauce deep fried tofu (normal)

Chawanmushi with Pumpkin Sauce (Added some fragrance to the chawanmushi)

Peach Salad (refreshing, although the peach are obviously those canned ones)

Potatoes Salad (Not Nice)

This is a place for those who just wanted to eat lots of different kind of japanese food, there is more than 150 under buffet selection.

One thing sad is that they dun have dessert from the buffet selection.
