Rice awesomely wrapped with omelette and readily soaked with Japanese Curry, the platter was relatively juicy and savoury. Huge piece of boneless and well-marinated grilled chicken, it was the wholesome meal for sure. Dressed up with freshly lettuce, presentation was colourful and appetizing. $16.80, it sounded a little pricey but filling portion.

Chanced upon Shokudo Japanese Coffee House not long ago and the restaurant concept from outside looks great. I wasn't sure of the menu initially but decided to just get a table and try anyway. My buddy and I decided to get the same thing, the Chicken Curry Omu Rice, which was a great choice! The fragrant rice is cooked with tomato paste to enhance the taste to go along with the soft and fluffy omelette. The perfectly grilled chicken was also generously large and seasoned well with teriyaki sauce

The fragrant rice is cooked with tomato paste to enhance the taste to go along with the soft and fluffy omelette. The perfectly grilled chicken was also generously large and seasoned well with teriyaki sauce. The curry that I've poured it over later on brings the dish to a whole new level. Overall, this was a memorable experience for which we enjoyed a truly wholesome meal.

The melted cheese certainly make this dish very tasty and appetizing. The spending per adult is less than $20 which is quite affordable.

Was at bugis junction and finding a restaurant to have desserts after having dinner. Me and my friend came to Shokudo as the waffle looks really good from the menu.We ordered waffle with banana and it comes with chocolate and maple syrup. The waffle is average, not as crispy and warm as we expected. Me and my friend paid $6 each for this and dont find it really value for money. Might be back in future to try their main instead.

The curry rosti was very nice and crispy, served with a bowl of thick and flavourful japanese curry.
Dipping the rosti into the curry and eat it was such a delish.

This unagi mushroom cheese pizza was yummy, topped with grilled unagi and shiitake mushrooms. The crust was crispy and not too thick.

Bugis always seemed to be that preferred central location and on one of my many food expeditions, I found my way to Shokudo which they brand themselves as a Japanese coffee house. Somehow, I never gave the cafe as much of those quick glances into its interior and be discouraged by the seemingly increasing crowd that fills the coffee house overtime. I skipped the lunch aspect and set my eyes on the dessert portion which I have to say was rather extensive. Oshiruko (Japanese Red Bean Paste), Mochi, Ice Creams and Waffles. It was just a hard choice for me choosing from all things sweet but in the end, I settled upon the Tofu Cheesecake ($4.80) which I have to say was my first trying it. The Cheesecake was exquisitely light and delectable coupled with the firm crumbly biscuit base, I was more than just glad having one of Shokudo's signature rendition for my first!

I can always go for a cooling drink to quench that forever summer season we Singaporean always have to bare. I went for the Iced Lychee Float ($5.80), chilly and perking that's how I like love my floats to always be.

Service was rather hesitant which what I perceived as no confidence or no experience in serving people. It didn't bring any comfort when I have to change my language from English to Chinese and back to English again because the staff couldn't apprehend the already simplified terms I was using.

Come to think again, you can't really have bests of both world. Good service and good food are just hard to come by together these days. I don't expect world class service but a little hospitality and friendliness always set the pace of a satisfied diner returning for more!

Whatever it is, I am just glad I gave Shokudo a try and that's another good cafe for desserts covered!

I was a little disappointed with the rosti as it was obviously a little burnt where the surface is black.

It still tasted delicious though, just that the burnt portion made it a little bitter and unappealing.

The always had it plain without the sour cream provided. It is fragrant and is a little crispy, with the original potato taste.

It tastes a little like potato chips and has the baked potato texture. The rosti is not completely soft and is nicely cooked to retain the crunchiness.

It’s a little oily though, but overall it is a filling and delectable snack.

The service is a little slow but on the whole, it is still satisfactory based on the service attitude.

The setup and ambience is not bad too, quite spacious and adapts the open concept restaurant.

The pricing of the items may be a little high but it is generally quite worth it since the food is nice and of good standards.

About 15 minutes food serve up,This is one of the special & delicious fish & chip i never try before, outside is crispy enough, inside the fish meat is very fresh! They provide the special sauce is taste like a wasabi mix with some mayo. So the wasabi taste not so heavy. Is just nice for me.

Went to this restaurant twice to eat their food. It is good and yummy. I love their curry, or rather Japanese curry, which they cooked it well. While everyone goes shokudo for japanese food, I love going there for their dessert.Their banana waffle is not too sweet, which is great because most banana waffles are way too sweet and it makes me sick of it after a few mouth of it. My favorite however, is definitely the cheese tofu cake. A small piece, but enough to satisfy your salivary glands. I love the soft texture of the cake and they always decorate the cake so pretty! As for the main dish, I usually order the salmon pasta, but for regular salmon eaters like me, it's not hard to tell that their salmon is a little dry and overcooked.

Overall, a great place, with nice food.

The egg over the rice.
