The FoodI ordered a plate of Fried Oyster Omelette and is tasty, soft and fluffy. I find that the fresh oysters texture are pretty normal but it goes very well with the special chilli sauce. Overall, I find that the Oyster Omelette is tasty but I would like the outer crust to be crispier to give it that explosive Oomph in your mouth. The PriceReasonably priced at $5 OverallI will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this! continue reading

FoodMy return visit to Shun Li's Orh Luak - this time round the auntie's orh luak is not as what we have expected but its still got. What I remembered from my last few visits is that her fried oysters are crispy. My plate of oysters cake were dampened and moist, I wondered if the lady was tired that day. Never mind for that, I will come back one more time.Presentation wise, the attractive colors had gained the hearts of the consumers. Chilli over the oysters are still as spicy and good!ServiceUncle who is serving us is very low profile and doesn't talk much from receiving our orders to serving us. This time round, I saw the lady wearing an artist cap while frying the oysters, looking good. Serving time is rather long as there were quite a number of orders before us.AmbienceLocated at the stretch of the hawker center facing the shop houses of the HDB, it is generally quiet as compared to the middle stretch of the stalls as most of the shops are not in operations in the evening.Price$5 portion for 2 pax is good enough considering the nice plate of Orh Luak.Recommendations / TipsCraving for Orh Luak? You have to try Shun Li's. continue reading

The other stall that I patron regularly at Alexandra Village Food Centre is the fried oyster stall run by an old couple. Usually the uncle will take the order and the auntie will do the cooking sitting on a tall stool. I enjoy the fried oyster from this stall as it came with a bit more eggs and not too wet. To get here, from Queenstown MRT station take bus 195 and alight 3 stops later. Alternative, from Redhill MRT station take bus 33 and alight 5 stops later. continue reading

Looking at the photo makes me drool. My dining partner took this using her dslr, and it really looked so much better than the normal photos that I took using my camera phone. Anyway, this oyster omelette is really as good as it looks. The stall owner did not sting on the oysters at all, and the oysters are really fresh as well. It is fat and juicy and the chilli also gives it a tangy taste. Although it is slightly greasy, it is definitely worth it to waste your calories on. continue reading
