What is the maximum amount you'll be willing to pay for a plate of chicken rice from a foodcourt? My precious workplace was at Marina Bay Sands, The Shoppes and there are times when I crave for simple local fare. Located at a prominent area with high tourist traffic, rental is considerably high for the stalls at Rasapura Masters, but vendors are selectively picked so Sin Kee Famous Chicken Rice is one of them. The Roasted Chicken Rice ($6.80) may be a tad bit pricey but it's backed with high quality fragrant rice and tender flavourful roasted chicken. The chicken meat are pleasurably thick and the chilli which came with it was nicely blended with different sweet, sour and spicy spices which enhances everything else. Would I pay for this again? Definitely! continue reading

Here comes the "atas" chicken rice...Great packaging leaves great impression. But that's a price to pay for. And that's $7 for a packet of chicken rice. Personally, I feel that it's totally not worth it. The grains of rice may be very fragrant and smells different from the other, but the chicken is not tender and smooth at all. It's quite stiff, and makes chewing not so pleasing to the teeth. So it's not really worth it to spend $7 for a packet of chicken rice at MBS Food Court. The rent is quite high, which explains for the pricey food court. continue reading

i was walking around marina bay sands with my girlfriend when she suggested we head to the food court to try out the food there. I ordered the sin kee chicken rice. The chicken rice was really not too bad, the rice was really fragrant, cooked perfectly, very grainy not sticking to each other and most important, it was not too oily. my roast chicken was really good, even the skin was flavourful. The meat was very tender and it was placed in this really tasty sauce. The sauce was a little salty to eat it on its own so it is best to go with the rice. The chilli is really good, spicy, sour and sweet, a fusion of flavours all together. It really enhance the flavour of the chicken and the rice. But I guess due to its location, it was a little pricey. continue reading
