Walked into So Pho during lunch hours on a weekend and got seated, ordered our food, was served and tucked into our food. Ordered the Chicken and Prawn Summer Rice Rolls to share, Beef Soup + Beef Ball Pho while my friend had the Set Grill Chicken Rice.Tried the chicken from the Set Grill Chicken Rice and found the chicken yummy. Similarly, the marinated chicken in the rice rolls was equally tasty. Enjoyed that the rice rolls had a tart of spiciness in it that I am guessing it's from the vegertables and the prawn went well. However, it was a pity in my opinion that  the rice paper was too dry such that it became difficult to separate the rolls and to eat the piece intact without it falling apart into pieces. As for the pho, I thought it was okay. Beef was a bit red when it came and it was somehow too tough and hard to bite apart when I was eating. The pho came shortly after the rice rolls were served but I was still eating the rice rolls then. As such, I think the pho cooled down too quickly such that by the time I ate it, it wasn't piping hot. I guess this was an oversight and a personal preference of how warm I like my noodles to be.Broth was tasty but I would have appreciated a more flavorful taste. Was somewhat disappointed the dish didn't remind me of the tasty beef pho I had in Vietnam.Overall, I enjoyed my dining experience at So Pho but thought that some aspects of the 2 dishes I had could be slightly improved on for me to recommend it to my friends and to come back again given their reasonable prices and good service and ambience. I liked the taste of the chicken and prawn rice rolls much and for the price for 6 hearty pieces, I found it reasonable as a side dish to share, though it would have been something I would then recommend only if the rice paper wasn't so dry. continue reading
