We went Soup Restaurant for dinner and ordered a tofu, a fish, a veg dishes and a soup of the day. Being called Soup Restaurant, the soup they have lives up to their name. It was very flavourful and they were a lot of ingredients. I liked the fish dish as the fish was fresh and it was cooked nicely. The tofu and veg was quite normal. We didn't try the chicken dish that they are famous for so I may go back to try it some other day. continue reading

Got to know that Soup restaurant doesn't just serve rice dishes, they have fried mee sua and pig trotter beehoon as well. My friend told me their mee sua is good so I decided to give it a try.Penang fried mee sua $9.90++The portion is quite generous for a 'small' dish. The mee sua comes with chunky chicken meat, bits of chopped prawns, mushrooms and lotsa tau geh. The noodle is quite well fried, not bad at all.Steamed Omega egg $6.90++This was listed as one of their signatures. The egg was silky smooth and slipped into my throat without using any energy to swallow...nice!Hand chopped minced pork w/ salted egg yolk $8.90++As the minced pork is chopped by hand and not using a machine, the texture of the steam minced pork is ultra tender and juicy. There are bits of chestnut inside giving it a nice bite. This is one of the best 手打咸蛋肉饼 in town! The outlet at Nex seems to have a more extensive menu as compared to Compass Point one. I shall explore more unique dishes next time. continue reading

Met up with my Sec sch friends for lunch and of cos with food my gal will always come along. She really can eat and was kinda like a gourmet and can tell what is good and what is not. She love chicken and soup restaurant serve nice juicy tender chicken and we also order vegetables, a pot of soup and tofu to share. Tofu was very soft and it somehow melt in the mouth. For chicken is still juicy and tender and I still love it to when eating it with the fresh crunchy veggie provided! continue reading

The FoodI ordered their signature dishes, Samsui Chicken and Penang Fried Mee Suah. As usual, the Samsui Chicken is incredibly very tender and soft. Even the skin is so soft and silky and is a must to dip with their homemade ginger sauce to fully savour the wonderful taste. Another method is to eat the chicken wrapped in cabbage. The cabbage makes the texture a little more crunchy and juicy hence giving it a refreshing taste. The Penang Fried Mee Suah it is very tasty and delicious which consists of fresh ingredients like chicken, eggs, prawns, bean sprouts, onions and mushrooms. Overall is not too oily and the mee suah is cooked just nice! The PriceReasonably priced at $30++ for the whole billOverallI will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this! continue reading

I am a big fan of chinese style double boiled soup so when I was pretty excited when I first step in to this famous soup restaurant for dinner for the first time. I didn't know what to order so I shall go with the popular and signature soup of the restaurant - Double Boiled Dried Scallop with Black Chicken Soup. This soup promotes invigorates blood circulation & relieve stress so why not? Since eating should be stress free! When my soup arrives, it smells so good that I would have drink the whole pot at one go if it wasn't for the pipping hot steam... The soup indeed taste good as it smell, the herbal taste is just nice and not overpowering bitter. The ingredients inside is very generous and definitely worth the price I am paying. Definitely going back to the restaurant for the other soups! continue reading
