Tucked away near Keppel, South Side feels like one of those spots you stumble upon and instantly want to keep to yourself. I dropped by for brunch and the rosti caught me off guard in the best way. Crispy, golden, topped with creamy avo and a perfectly runny onsen egg. The Crispy Chicken & Waffle here is seriously addictive. The chicken is golden and crunchy on the outside, juicy and tender inside, while the waffle is light with just the right sweetness to balance the savory chicken. Drizzle it with syrup and it’s pure comfort food heaven. The tater tots were the perfect sidekick, crispy, salty, and addictive little bites that kept disappearing way too fast. I checked out South Side Keppel along Keppel Road and wah, the rosti power sia. The Switz Rosti was crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and nice with sour cream and lemon. I went for the Wagyu Steak & Ikura version—beef tender, ikura pop fresh. Their Roasted Half French Chicken also impressive as the juicy meat fell off the bone, served with carrot purée and garlic confit. I had sea salt earl grey mocha drink, unique and rich. South Side Keppel is such a chill spot with its bright, airy vibe and big windows that let in lots of light. The rosti here is a must-try.
