Do visit http://www.umakemehungry.com/2014/05/spicy-thai-thai-restaurant.html for reviewsSpicy Thai Thai, what a quirky name to start with and upon hearing such business name, it always bring a smile on my face. I would say it is an amazing place to enjoy authentic Thai food dining in back alley of Little India which left us a very different dining experience after having enjoyed the clean and comfy air-conditioned dining places we had.Get yourselves be prepared to dine in a dirty back alley and only cash is accepted there. For ladies, it is best to go with a group of friends as the surroundings are quite dimly lit.Spicy Thai - Thai Restaurant esrves up an array of delectable Thai cuisine as well as hotpots making your taste buds sing!We started with (Moo Kar Tar), Thai Style BBQ with soup where its starter set consist vegetable, pork and seafood. The vegetables come in a basket form wherewe get to enjoy Dang Hoon, Kang Kong & Cabbages. We started placing those pork lards on the top of the pot, watching such sinful oil melted under the hot charcoal heat before we start placing those raw meats for our Moo Ka Tar Session! My first time seeing Otah being kept in the coconut and wow the portion was generous. The otah was minced containing a few prawns and was rich in coconut milk decorated with a stalk of mint leaf. Highly recommended by my pal who came here before and yes, if you like La La, I bet you will enjoy this this like I do. Onions, chillis and corriander leaves are added to reduce the seafood smell originally from them. The La La was perfectly cooked and the soup was sweet!Skipped the rice and order the Fried Vermicelli as an replacement of the carbs. The vermicelli comes in 2 versions, the plain (below) and with egg wrapping over them. It was cooked with minced meat and chopped long beans with a strong basil leaves fragrant.Another must try item if you were there. Even though the fish is of seasonal price and may be a little dear, it's all worth paying for as its meat was tender and fresh. The fish was served in a fish shape iron cast under a flaming fire in clear tom yam soup. For the hungry goers, if you still have more room for sides, you can order their BBQ Wings. Sweetly coated with its meat tenderly barbequed to its perfection.Having stayed in Singapore for so long, it is hardly to come by such back alley dining. For sure, I will be returning for its other dishes specially when Authentic Thai Cuisine are simply worth the value. continue reading

Spicy Thai Thai Restaurant is a highly recommended place to for food food by 1 of my buddy who likes hanging out in Little India during weekdays. Since it's so highly recommended, I decided to give it a try. The environment: unlike restaurant / cafe concept, not even a coffee shop. It has a very unique alley dining concept whereby all diners are seated in an alley between Wonderlust hotel and coffee shop. Can describe it as a place for authentic Thai tze char The crowd: Surprised to see a handful of Caucasians and a mixtures of locals and Thais.Am hungry for a meal! Here's the menu to place my order! My first time coming across this kind of dipping sauce. Not too salty nor spicy, somehow or rather it taste like salty version of peri peri sauce and it has a spicy aftertaste with a numbing effect. Deep fried pandan chicken! Yummy~licious. The seasoning is just nice and isn't spicy, nor has a super strong lemon grass smell. I love the juicy boneless tender chicken which makes me can't stop after having the first piece. It's a "must eat" dish!Pork Collar on the other hand, has a chewy texture where the meat are well marinated and evenly grilled till cook...and it goes perfectly well with the dipping sauce. Delicious! Phad Thai ~ another dish which truly represents Thailand and it's a must eat dish for me whenever I visit Bangkok. Portion are considered small and seems like chili flakes are missing. Not too bad after all. continue reading
