Located in the quiet I12, this Suki-Ya outlet is rarely packed with customers so if you hate queing, this is the best place to dine. What I like about Suki-Ya is their soup. It is extremely tasty and not overly salty. One of the best in town, IMO. Service is also very prompt, which is rare for buffet outlets. You can order as much sliced meat (choice of chicken, beef or pork) as you want and it gets delivered to you very quickly. Sliced meat a really thin though so you just have to keep ordering.

As for the spread of food, I find it to be limited. In fact I would say, less than 30 items vs other buffet places which have more than 50 at any time. You get about 8-10 vege items, another 5-8 fish/meat balls and noodles. The condiments are also very limited.

The worst part of it all is that they limit your dining time to less than 2 hours.

However, the place is well kept and clean. Overall, it was a pleasent dining experience given the comfortable and clean ambiance, coupled with good service and great soup.

Katong 112 usually doesn't get too crowded. I've not seen a long queue thus far. Suki-ya is a generally nice, quiet and spacious restaurant. We ordered the Shabu Shabu. They have a wide variety of choices, and because the meat are thinly sliced, and it's not "fried" , eating a lot of it doesn't feel so sinful , almost healthy to a certain extent depends on what you eat here compared to the usual junk out there. The meat slices are fresh (though frozen). The soup base is nice, clear and light.

The staff are very friendly, helpful and attentive.

I love steamboat and i can have it anytime! When i was younger, i used to frequent the Liang Seah Street ones but now it will be Suki-Ya when i got craving for steamboat! The broth, range of ingredients, freshness, it's all there with a affordable pricing! Plus point is they have my favourite CHEESE BALLS (unlimited servings), free flow meat ( i always opt for sliced beef) and a good range of vegetables to balance out my meal. Craving for steamboat?? Suki-Ya is your choice =)

Personally I really enjoy this buffet very much.As it is soup based, I feel that this is one of the healthier choices around if I really want to go for a buffet meal (there is not much oil, unlike a BBQ style buffet). Condiments counter.
Diners don't usually just take 1 kind of condiment. Instead, they mix some garlic, ponzu, chilli, onions, etc into a bowl. I tried the combination and it tastes awesome.

Some of my favourite not-to-be-missed vegetables. I especially love the mushrooms because once you dunk them into the soup and keep them boiling for awhile, they not only enhance the flavour of the soup but also absorb the taste of it. After awhile, the mushroom's flavour becomes really strong and is also juicy.

For meats, I like to order beef.

Here's swirling the beef in the boiling tasty soup for a few seconds so that the meat can be cooked to the right degree - tender and succulent.

There is also an ice cream machine. You can help yourself to soft serve, then drench it in your favourite toppings. However, when I was there for lunch, I was told that ice creams are only available for dinner, so I was a little disappointed.

All in all a great experience!

Today, we go to the restaurant outlet located in Tampines Mall basement 1. This is our repeat visit within a couple of month. Children insist of eating lunch there. We request the shabu shabu & sukiyaki soup with meat of beef, chicken and pork and a variety of fish balls, vegetable, beancurd, noodles etc. The children love the Udon & cellophane noodles very much. The thin slice of beef is extremely tender, eat in the way that slight cook and tip with raw beaten egg is very good taste.

The waitress state that we are only allow to spent 1hr 40min in the restaurant. Wow ~~This shows that they must be expecting long queue ~~ There is a few soup base that you could choose from and we order the sukiyaki and the shabu shabu soup base (Max 2 soup base). There is a free flow of beef, pork and chicken shabu shabu slice and vegetables ~. However, the drinks and the cooked food were not included in the buffet price.

First time in 112 Katong mall and first time having suki-ya. Highly raved by my boy thus we went there for dinner. It was a little disappointing as the ice cream machine wasn't working on that day. Not only that, most of the food were fried. Didn't really like it in my opinion.2 soup base to choose from out of the 3. We had 2 non-spicy ones. Beef , chicken and pork have to be ordered via the waitress. I didn't really like the beef and chicken. Beef was a little hard. Chicken wasn't really fresh.

Don't think i'll patronize here again.

Went to Suki-Ya and have steamboat ! Yummy ! :We can choose 2 different types of soup-base in one steamboat and there were different sauces for us to mix around. Suggests to add-on the free-flow salmon at around $6. Is really fresh ! will go back and eat again
