I first visited this store during the first or second day of their opening and wasn't impressed with the disorderly crowding at the sushi selection counter, shoddy packaging, and the quality which seemed like everything was just hastily clamped together. But I thought it might be due to the rush of the opening day then, so I thought of giving this stall another try recently. Variety for the sushi seemed to be even lesser now than it did before, although they have "expanded" their catalog to incl
I bought the tamago sushi, crab mayo sushi and another sushi which I thought was the same potato salad that I got on my first visit but it turned out to be squid or octopus instead. Unfortunately, there didn't seem to be much improvement whether with its packaging or taste. While the rice was not very sticky, it generally held firm and did not fell apart upon biting, which was good. However, the rice on one of the sushi looked yellowish and the crab mayo was kind of 'watery'.
If you ask me, I personally prefer the sushi at the nearby Kuriya instead for more variety, better quality and fresher sushi, although the sushi at Kuriya are slightly more expensive. At Sushi Express, each small sushi is only selling at $0.50 each. If you aren't fussy about quality and just want a quick grab, then the price would be a drawing point.
