Visited Thomson Plaza and saw this sushi Tei. Because of timing, lucky the waiting time was short. Ordered the Favourite kaisen nabemono Seafood pot. Consists of tofu , scallops, prawns, vegetables accompanied with spicy 🌶 soup. The serving like a hot stove with a metal pot. ($29.50)Additional mini golden roll. It so filling and nice visual effect too. ($11.90)Follow by Kagobelly Uzura like satay stick. But belly with cheese. It smell good too. ($10.80).

As you can see from the picture, i tried having this crab fried rice for the first time and it's good! Good flavour and quite enjoyable. I shared this so i won't overeat. Haha!

I love yellowtail and the ones at Sushi Tei never disappoint. Last night got a platter which consist of salmom, tuna and yellowtail.

The sushi rolls and chicken skewers and other items were great. My grandma was enjoying herself which really delighted us to see her happy with the food =)

Overall it's a great place for dinner regardless whether you are dining alone, with friends or family.

- Yosenabe (seafood & vegetable hot pot), $12.80Since I do not eat uncooked food, i.e. sashimi etc, I ordered the seafood & vegetable hot pot. I was disappointed at the blackish-looking pot it was served in. Thankfully, the food within was at least good. There was plenty of fresh seafood within - salmon belly, scallops, squid, prawns, together with glass noodles, enoki mushrooms and other vegetables in a tasty miso base soup. Sushi Tei's sashimi salad ($9) drizzled with Sushi Tei's SECRET RECIPE sauce is mind-blowingly awesome!!
the veggies are fresh and crisp, and the sashimi is just lovely. there are a few types of sauces for you to chose, but why go for the others when the sushi tei sauce is just soooo good?

another big draw for me at sushi tei would be their fried garlic rice ($8). i have found no other place which is able to produce garlic rice of such high standards. so far, in my opinion, it is unbeatable. but please please comment and tell me if you know of any awesome place to rival this ok!! (: (: the garlic rice here is so fragrant, you can't help but salivate just smelling the dish. yummm! every moist grain of rice is suffused with the aroma of garlic. the red ginger slices and other ingredients just add to the flavour of the dish.

usually we order a plate of sushi to share when we come here, but it is not the main attraction, unlike the two lovelies above (: nevertheless, i like sushi tei's interesting take on sushi. they have a few interesting ones like the golden roll ($14) we ordered this time. it's sushi containing a nicely fried king prawn, wrapped with mango and topped with fish roe! the sweetness of the mango and savoury prawn go surprisingly well with each other, and this is a lovely dish to behold. the presentation is so pretty! (:

and of course, we can never miss out teriyaki when we're at a japanese restaurant! i just LOVE that sauce! (: we ordered teriyaki salmon ($10). there is also the option of shio salmon, but why would you just want a salted fish, when you can enjoy the sauce-y version?! okay, maybe it's just me. i love and NEED sauce ;) which is why i loved this dish because the amount of sauce was so generous! and the fish was cooked just perfectly, nice and soft
yum!

Roll and Garlic Rice. 1st tried their Garlic Rice... erm, quite surprising ! It's really nice. After served, we finished it within 5 mins. Lol, strongly recommend their Garlic Rice. Those who always go Sushi tei knew that their Mango Tara. Roll is nice and special. Fresh mango roll

Combining the intricacies of sashimi to the theatrical flair of teppanyaki with an innate intuition of local tastes to forge an inimitable identity of their own, Sushi Tei is no ordinary dining restaurant.

We enjoyed ourselves with their assortment of scrumptious and creatively designed Japanese gastronomy - appealing to the delight of aficionados of Japanese cuisine.

With also the modest and unassuming homegrown Japanese Kaiten (conveyor belt) chain, an open-kitchen concept allows us the prerogative to relish the mouth-watering savories amidst the gazing of the culinary skills of their restaurants' chefs.

Be prepared to queue during meal peak hours to get a seat.

Dinner with my family to celebrate my brother's 18th Birthday. We could not really make up our mind where to eat and we are only left with 2 hours before all the restaurant would be close. I would say it's probably not a mistake to choose Sushi Tei @ Thomson plaza. We live at Yio Chu Kang Road and the nearest place to have a proper dinner would be at Thomson plaza, not very big but at least there are varieties. That's not very bad though. We live at Yio Chu Kang Road and the nearest place to have a proper dinner would be at Thomson plaza, not very big but at least there are varieties. That's not very bad though.

When we arrived at the place, it's really packed. About 5 groups are already in the queue. Not very bad service, he took my dad's number and told us to talk a walk; waiting time is about 30minutes. Pretty turn off because the waiting time is pretty long though.

We waited about 20-25 minutes before we could get a table. However, I would say, not very bad. The seats that are assigned to us are pretty spacious. Enough to fit 4 adults and 2 kids.

However, another thing I would like to comment is the service, so many waitress and waiters walked pass us and no one really bother when I placed my hands up. It was really frustrating. The next moment, I directly said, excuse me to a waitress, she was fast enough to catch me so she came over to take our order.

I don't really eat this, because I don't take raw food. My parents and siblings really love it and finished the whole bowl of it. The wasabi flavour was strong enough.

I don't take this fish roe too, however it seems like a lot of Singaporeans love this.

It just taste like normal rolls however, the mayonnaise is not enough. A little dry.

My mom order this, tried a little. The noodles is a little plain, no chilled enough. The taste of green tea ain't there.

Chilled Udon ($10)

My sister order this, however I share a little with her. The udon is really tasteless and the shouyu don't go well with the soba. I doubt this food taste good though.

This is my standard order, however today's try was really bad. The teriyaki sauce really little, the rice seems very sticky and watery. The chicken was not cooked well.

We had:

1) Salmon Mentai ($6): a slice of salmon coated with a layer of creamy cod roe and baked till a caramelized char on rolled sushi rice is great for newbies who are a little averse to the idea of raw fish

2) Tamago Maki ($2.20): reasonably well done. Compact sweet egg omelette with moist vinegared rice and crisp seaweed.

3) Salmon Shio ($10): a thick fleshy piece of grilled salmon seasoned simply with salt, was done well, moist with delectably crisp skin

4) Gindara Teriyaki ($12.80): grilled cod fish brushed with teriyaki for a smoky sweet finish

5) Asari Misoshiru Soup ($10.80): asari clams flavoured with salty miso and smooth beancurd cubes was rich and full of umami goodness

Ordered a Golden Roll at this outlet on a lazy afternoon. It's the only mall in the neighbourhood so do not be surprised when you actually have to queue up similar to Vivocity's during peak hours. The mango's sweetness and sourness adds a subtle taste to the soft rice and crispy fried prawn. The only drawback is the prawn which has a strong smell of overcooked oil. The mayo plays a part in avoiding a dry meal.
