My grandma stays at Hougang area, thus will ways patronise this stall for its Satay. This stall is famous for its Satay, which are sold at $0.50/stick. The satays here are super awesome!! Ordered the chicken one and it was so good! The peanut sauce was super delicious and when u dip the satay in the sauce and put it in ur mouth, you instantly feel super happy!!! I guarantee u! The ketupat and cucumbers were good too! Swee satay has sell char kway teow too. Their stall not only famous for their satays,but other food too. Their char kway teow is one of them. Auntie gave generous of kway teow, vegetables,cockles,slices of fish cakes and chinese sausages too. For three dollars a packet of the char kway teow,it was well worth the buck. Char Kway Teow is another item that this stall sells, besides satay, fried oyster, carrot cake. I had the char kwya teow with a little bit of chilli and it costs only $3. It was quite a big packet and the auntie gave a generous serving of fresh green veggies. Other ingredients include many cookles, slices of chinese sausage and fish cakes, and eggs. Swee satay's fried carrot cake was one of the nicest carrot cake I ever had. The carrot cake taste much nicer and fragrant, maybe because they added more carrots in the making of the cake itself. Once the carrot cakes are fried in sweet black soya sauce, it really smells fragrant and you can't wait to grab a bite of it into your mouth. I has mentioned in the earlier review that this stall sells a number of food items and today, I am reviewing their fried oyster. They have 2 types, one is the normal one and the other is the fried oyster with egg. What I had was the normal version and this time round, it was the uncle who fried it. If you got him, his version will be more crispy and slightly bigger portion. Maybe men are more generous. The oysters this time round were bigger too. For $4 portion, you will get 4 oysters. The fried oyster was slightly more oily this time but as it was more crispy, it was more definitely more tasty. Had it with the chilli and it will be perfect. Satays at Swee Satay is so far the nicest one I ever tried. Normally I would ordered the mutton and pork satays only. The mutton satays comes with a little mutton fat on each stick and makes the meat tender and not too dry. The same goes for the pork satays and you would love the tenderness and fragrant of the meat itself. Satay sauce is thick enough with generous amount of grated peanuts. Swee satay not only sells satay, this stall sells a number of food items. Carrot cake is one of them. They have the black and white versions. However I always prefer the white version as it is the only version where I can really taste the flavour of the carrot cake. The carrot cake was quite well fried. It was not too oily but I would prefer it have more "chai po". The amount of eggs was just right and it was very tasty. The white version only tastes very nice with chilli. I have explore many satay stalls before but this Swee satay is still my number one choice. The satay sauce was filled with peanuts that have been crushed to small bites. It was so thick, not like others that was so watery.As for the satay, I would always order the pork and mutton satay as they are my favourites. The mutton satay has been marinated well but this time round it was a bit overcooked but the texture was still okay. As for the pork satay, it was not those lean ones. Swee Satay is very well-known for its satay but recently they have also taken up the stall next to them. Now, they have expanded and is selling fried carrot cake ($2.50) for both black and white version, fried oyster cake ($4, $6, $8), fried oyster with eggs ($6, $8) and of course their signature items - fried kway teow ($3) and satay. I tried their fried carrot cake, the white version without chilli. It was delicious. The carrot cake was surrounded by a generous amount of egg and it has a very good texture to it.
