This cafe in Yishun10 is known for its colorful desserts, as well as, taiwanese style XL sized deep fried chicken cutlets which are available in different flavours. But I have been noticing that the cafe also sells chicken rice and noodle dishes, based on the posters by the cafe. Today I decide to go in and have a try. The staff at the counter kindly greets me when I enter the cafe and shows me the menu where I can slowly decide when finding a table first. One has to collect food from the counter after making order at the counter.Chicken Cutlet Noodles ($3.50)The simple noodles in dark soya sauce actually tastes very yummy on its own. The crispy chicken cutlet on other hand, tastes a bit too salty, but it is quite tender inside, and crispy outside.I also order a luo han guo drink which costs $1. It tastes quite refreshing and cooling, especially it is quite a hot day today.Overall the food is not bad and served quite quickly. continue reading

This is konnyaku chendol from sweet tornado.Their chendol was made from konnyaku jelly and was in green colour. But only a small portion given. This suppose to be chendol but i find it too messy as in too many ingredients in it. It should be small amount for others so the chendol can comes in bigger portion. However the coconut and brown sugar taste great and make the whole dessert taste better. continue reading

Hang out at Northpoint and went to Sweet Tornardo with friend out of sudden craving for dessert and coz we have no idea where to go! Black Sesame Paste with Black Sesame Tang Yuan ($3.20)The paste was normal, the thickness just nice for me, and the sweetness is also okay for me. The black sesame flavour is quite strong and I would not feel bored or oily after eating the whole bowl of the paste.Red Bean Paste with Black Sesame Tang Yuan ($3)The paste has some 陈皮 (dried mandarin skin) smell which tasted quite nice. I like the black sesame Tang Yuan very much coz It made the paste not plain and the black sesame fillling inside was fragrant and sweet. The Tang Yuan was chewy too. continue reading

My sister strongly recommended this dessert so i decided to give it a try to satisfy my sweet tooth. The shop is situated at a corner near Yishun golden village cinema with a simple interior design. This "sweet tornado" dessert actually similar to ice kacang that we normally eat but what impressed me is that they used gula melaka that added to the uniqueness taste and make it so different and outstanding from other desserts. It came with a large serving with sweet corns, red beans, big sago, and many more. The ice and many kind of flavor will melt in your mouth when you try it. continue reading
