More reviews can be found here www.umakemehungry.comSwensens on birthday? Not a bad idea as the birthday girl/guy will receive a complete birthday treat over the firehouse flame.By default the firehouse comes with Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry Ice cream topped with cherries, pineapple and chocolate fudge toppings but I had the ice cream flavors replaced. Instead of having vanilla ice cream, we opted for durian with little candle stuck onto a portion of the banana in the middle. And for the sweet tooth, we had the banana crumble on its sizzling skilling with caramelized fresh banana slices, topped with an old fashioned vanilla ice cream drenched in butterscotch cream sauce. continue reading

Swensen's is the place for ice-cream and desserts! I was craving for ice-cream and the first place that popped into my mind was Swensen's. I decided to go for The Rock rather than the usual Topless 5 or Banana Split because I realized I haven't been adventurous enough in trying out Swensen's menus.Well, the Rock ($8.90++) is made up of three flavours - rocky road, cookies and cream and Sticky Chewy Chocolate. I love it!!! The sticky chewy chocolate flavour especially, because it reminds me of dark chocolate melting and yet it's coldddd. Lovely. Well, if there's a recommendation for happiness, I'll recommend you to go for the Topless 5 and order at least two portions of sticky chewy chocolate!  continue reading

When i visit Swensen's, it's more often to get their ice cream cakes then the food. Their ice cream cakes is one of the nicest which I have tried and I do prefer this over the normal cakes. Although it is not easy to slice it with a normal plastic cake knife, it is still worth every ounce of effort. My mum bought this cake recently for a birthday celebration and I was squealing in delight. The cake boosted a strong vanilla flavour and tasted like ice-cream (duh) and i like the frozen biscuit base at the bottom. It provides a different texture to the cake which i enjoy. The ice cream is also not too sweet and so its good for kids and adults alike to enjoy! Definitely a favorite with kids.Swensen's always provide a thick box for transporting these cakes along with some dry ice which helps to preserve the cake and keep it cool under the hot weather. continue reading

FOODCrabmeat Fried RiceTraditional fried rice tossed with soft-shell crab, carrots, mushrooms and egg. The soft-shell crab is very crispy, but the fried rice is a little tasteless, totally incomparable to the type of Chinese fried-rice in other places. The soft-shell crab is the only appeal to me. $15 for such a dish is a little over-priced. Mozzarella Cheese SticksThese fried mozzarella cheese sticks are far much better. Crispy and the cheese is great! PRICEThe food in Swensen's are usually slightly pricey, and that explains why I do not frequent the place. It's only worthy to have a meal here only when they have special offers for their lunch set meal. It can be as cheap as $10, but vary for different dishes.AMBIENCEI don't really like the open-concept restaurant in Jurong Point, because everyone can look at you when you eat, and it's quite uneasy for me. It's also quite noisy and can hardly chat over dinner with your friends. Expect a waiting time till 30 mins on weekends. continue reading

There is Swensen's promotion between 2pm to 5pm for their ice cream. Students will be able to get 2 sundae a $10.80 and adults at $12.80. I ordered the banana split today and my friends ordered the rock. Banana split is one of their best seller in the stall. I changed the flavor of the ice cream to Butterscotch, Chocolate peanut butter and macadamia nut, which are all my favourite. The ice cream was very nice and creamy. When the 3 flavours mixed together, it was also very nice. However, the banana was fully mature, therefore it was not sweet at all and there is a sour taste. The banana destroyed the taste of ice cream. The waffle biscuits was very unique. There is a Swensen word written on it and it was very crispy. Overall i will rate it 8 out of 10. The service was great and the environment was clean! it is really worth going! continue reading
