Located at the Toa Payoh Entertainment Centre is the family restaurant Swensen's. The mention of the restaurant you probably will associated it with the famous Earthquake icecream. Lately Swensen has revamped its menu improving on their cooked food. The Spicy crayfish pasta is one the dish in the menu which I often order when I visited the restaurant. The tangy tomato based pasta with its al dente pasta was delectable with a dash of spiciness to it. continue reading

It was my little sister bdae and I decided to surprise her by ordering an ice-cream cake from Swensens, which is to be delivered on the day itself. When the cake came, it was put into a Styrofoam box with dry ice inside. I was afraid it would melt so I pestered my dad to bring out the cake, but as we had not eaten our dinner, my dad refused and said that it would not melt at all. Luckily, it turned out that he was right, when he took out the cake 4hrs later (there was a note on the box stating that the cake shld not be left for more than 3hrs as it would melt), the cake was still frozen solid. It was really difficult cutting the cake, even after using the knife my mum alwys used in the kitchen. In the end, we could only get spoons to dig the cake to eat as it was just too hard to cut.The cake was really nice, with ice cream in between thin layers of sponge cake. There were 3 flavours of ice cream in it in total; vanilla, strawberry and chocolate. The nicest flavour was chocolate (of cos, since it was my favourite). The cake was soft, and eating the whole thing makes ur teeth shiver. One tip: Eat all 3 flavours tgt with the cake, its the perfect combination, delicious! Overall, a really nice to eat cake. Will purchase again next time. continue reading

Ordered a birthday cake for my daughter from Swensen and for those of you who loves ice cream cakes, Swensen is highly recommended for its good quality.Per kg at S40 and the pictured is a 2 kg chocolate.Very thick and rich and simply delicious and for a party of 10 paxs, we just finished the whole cake and the children were craving for more !However, be careful to collect the cake nearer to the time you want to consume as the ice-cream cake can last a maximum of 4 hours before it melt away. continue reading

Decided to give the sizzling pan a miss as it seemed somewhat too sinful for a dinner snack. I wished stuck to my initial plan...The mudpie came identical to the one showed in the menu but the Hazelnut Cappuccino was such a let down. The mudpie, on an overall, was very dry. The top of the mudpie was layered with some caramel sauce on what I think was vanilla. Things got slightly better from the middle where the brownie was, down to the cappuccino flavour. If you're looking for something moist, this is a miss for you. Sweet tooth lovers may find this to their liking but only go for it if you are bored of the same old menu. continue reading

I'm a regular at Swensens Toa Payoh's outlet as i'm normally there on weekends for my massages and having their breakfast which served till 11am.Also the outlet is not too crowded and each time i'm free to use the newspaper provided by the outlet which they placed on the first table from the entrance so we just help ourselve. My regular breakfast menu is the spinach with toast, egg benedicts, tomatoes and mushrooms which comes in a small container and is very rich ,creamy and tasty and the whole set at $9.90++ comes with either coffee or tea and either orange or apple jiuces. Also i'm their Swensens Rewards Card holder and especially on my birthday month, i could enjoy free sundaes which i had claimed on all 8 weekends this year!Just spend $50 in one visit and you could apply for the free membership card which entitles you to a free drink whenever you are in any Swensens and you may top up just $1 to change the free drink into any premiums from the premiums drink menu.Every dollar spend will also enjoy points. continue reading
