My sis and I like to walk around Takashimaya Food Hall and pick out food we had like to eat instead of having a full meal at any restaurant or food court in Orchard. Anyway we got a box of Ham and Cheese takoyaki balls from Takopachi for $2+. The tako balls were already cooked but since they were left on the pan, it was still served relatively hot. As it is made of flour, the tako balls is quite dense with a few pieces of ham in it. The skin is quite crispy being cooked on the pan and so it's quite a nice combination, along with the toppings and sauce, which helps to add flavour to the otherwise flour-y taste. continue reading

The Takoyaki balls here are super delicious! The batter is quite dense and slightly chewy with a good flavour to it. The ingredients are pretty small but that's ok cause the batter tastes good so it makes up for it. The sauce that comes with the balls are savory and tasty and together with the mayonnaise and bonito flakes the dish is pretty yummy! Good for a on the go snack continue reading

Octopus balls! This is one of the outlets where I frequent to get my takopachi balls fix. The batter here is thick and fluffy and very flavour full. It is simple in terms of flavour but that's what I like about it, there is no flavours to compete with the Taste of the batter. Only thing that the octopus filling is very small in size so you are basically eating batter. continue reading

While this stall’s Japanese name translates to ‘Octopus balls’ in English, they come in other flavours as well! The traditional Octopus balls are filled with a nice thick piece of Octopus so it’s chewy but not tough while the prawn ones are really good as well. Both usually come sprinkled with a generous amount of bento flakes. But the most popular type has got to be the bacon and cheese! The melty cheese complements the bacon perfectly and makes every bite or mouthful a delight. continue reading
