Usually there will be a long queue behind this stall as the owners here insisted on homemaking the fillings every other day in order to deliver the best quality of food that they can give to the customers. although the queue is usually long but it was always clear off swiftly. On top of that, what I love the best about this stall is the lady boss will always greet you with a smiling face while asking for your order.
Beside the homemade fillings, the pancake itself is also very well done. The crust is slightly crispy while the inside of the pancake is soft and springy. On top of that, the fillings given is very generous.
The pancakes are served in those paper cup casing to hold the generous peanut fillings. Every bite of the pancake is a delightful bite of softness( pancake) and crunchiness(peanut filling).
Other than peanut fillings($0.70 per slice) there are also yam($1),sesame($1), green bean($0.80), red bean ($0.80) and also pandan greenbean ($0.80). Personally i have tried all the flavours and like the peanut and yam the most. The stall is closed on Monday and Friday. The operating hours is from 4.30 to 11 am or till sold out. I would highly recommend this pancake stall if you are a pancake lover. The overall taste of the pancake will definitely made you go back for more.

I went there randomly and saw that there were about 4 - 5 people in the queue. I joined in and decided to try it out. I ordered a slice of Original Peanut Pancake. The exterior of the pancake is very smooth, not those like burnt or overcooked sort of pancake. The inside of the pancake is very chewy. The fragrance of the freshly grounded peanut mixed with sugar was also very appetizing. Overall, I recommend this pancake only if you can eat it while it is hot! Definitely the best one i ever tried.

The pancakes are served on paper tart cups which can be used to hold any peanut bits coming out from the pancake to be scooped into the mouth. They appear brown with bits of peanuts falling out from the pancake. The pancake is soft and spongy. The side of the pancake is crispy and crunchy. The bits of peanuts are gritty and add to the the pancake its sweet nutty flavour. The pancake appears and tastes like mua chee.

The pancakes are very tasty and they are not like any other peanut pancake I have seen and tasted in Singapore. The next time I want to but the pancakes, I have to be early at the right day because they open and close early and the stall is closed at Mondays and Fridays.

I really didn't know this stall is so popular before I went. It is lucky that I went earlier since shortly after I ordered, the uncle had sold out all his pancakes and is preparing to close for the day. Their peanuts pancake is really good. The uncle is not stingy with his peanuts at all, as you can see it is bursting with peanuts. I love how crunchy the peanuts are and how fragrant it is. Although it is tad sweet, but still very delicious. The pancake itself is also spongy and soft.

This is the best authentic peanut pancake that I have tasted so far. The texture is right and the generousity of the peanut filling is overwhelming. The peanut is crunchy and very fragnant. The stall owner insists on freshly made peanuts every 2 days. Have been buying from them more than 8 years and the taste is consistent and no let down. Often the queue is still quite ok but after their stall been featured in one of the chinese programme, now the queue increased by 3 times!Try their yam fil

Try their yam filling round pancake. The thick filling just oozes out and the taste is very satisfying. Good breakfast food.

One day a Hongkong friend of mine sent me an email in asking me peanut pancake here as she will be coming for tour soon. I use to buy this at Jollibean because of its convenient location and consistent standard. Due to special request, I did a quick search at internet for more info. Dr Leslie the famous food blogger has endorsed a lengthy blog for this snack. It created my immediate interest in trying it.

I have to buy it before work as it opens in the morning section only. I reached there around 8+am, 2~3 patrons before me, my turn, the lady owner asked for my order smilingly. Her action is smooth and fast wrap up my order. Then I took a bus back to office. During the bus ride, the peanut fragrance was so strong that I could smell it through. It tempted me to eat it immediately, hold it, I couldn’t eat in the bus. All right, all right, no eating! Once I reached the office and sat down with my cup of coffee, couldn’t wait further, took one piece out and bite it full mouthful! Heavenly, fragrance peanut with a chewy pancake, the taste was really an old flavour! The strong fragrance attracted my colleague’s attention, I quickly shared a piece with him.

To experience a slice of Singapore’s history and nostalgia for the good old days, head down to this stall and have a slice of their peanut pancake, you will understand. They have yam and red bean filling as well. The choice is yours.

I like the ever famous blogger ieatishootipost “a slice of Singapore’s history” dedicated to this peanut pancake. It created my interest in trying this particular stall. I use to patron Jollibean for its convenient location, their peanut butter pancake is fine to me.

I specially made the trip down early this morning as the stall opens morning section only. Lucky me, there wasn’t a queue and I got it without waiting. It was still warm when I bought it, the peanut fragrance was so strong while I was on my way back to work. Once I reached office, I tried it but it was already cool down, the texture was a little hard and quite gummy. Having said that peanut was really fragrance, it filled up my office! I could taste it was freshly roasted and grinded, most importantly there wasn’t any trace of sand, I have eaten other stalls, they would have sand mixed in their crumble peanut! If I could eat it on the spot, I would think the taste was even better.

Frankly, this peanut pancake (mi chiam kueh) tastes unique to me. Probably to do with its history and ingredients was passed down by past generation “old dough老面”, it is their rising agent instead of the commercial one by using sodium bicarbonate. Whoever has the experience in handling bread making, they know what is old dough as rising agent.

Someone who likes to experience the taste of a generation past, it worth to make a trip down, just like down the memory link!
