It has got a nice old school taste about it but it did not really taste too nice. It is only $1.20 for such a bowl of noodle. The flat yellow noodle cooked with vegetable and left it soaked in the soup while waiting to be served. The texture of the noodle was compromised and it became really soft and it ended up breaking into small pieces. It tasted not too bad but i really do not know how to appreciate such a bowl of noodle. I guess this would be my only time eating it.

This was my first experience trying out the so called Rickshaw noodle. It was a pure coincidence to come across this stall. This was my first experience trying out the so called Rickshaw noodle. It was a pure coincidence to come across this stall. The noodle might not taste the best but it does have the old school taste to make this a worth while experience.

The noodle was cooked in a big pot and left it there to be served. The noodle ended up to be a little soggy after left it there for a long while. This was the taste that given the required energy to many coolies particularly the rickshaw pullers of the yesteryear by filled up their hungry stomaches.

My dearest grandpa used to cook something similar to what they served here.

Such a bowl of noodle is only at $1.20 or $1.50 if you want a bigger bowl. The noodles were cooked simply with only veggie. Upon order, they scooped it up using a ladle from the big pot then added in the dried shallots and chilli.

If you have yet to taste it then it is definitely worth a try before such a taste is gone for good.

Tao Yuan Cooked food located at the Beo Crescent food market. They are famous in the cheap rickshall noodles. Their economic fried bee hoon is selling at the reasonable price also. The portion of the bee hoon is big. I ordered the fried bee hoon and noodles and add a piece of luncheon meat. The luncheon meat slice is very thin but it costs me only $1.30. Good choice for breakfast.

Rickshall noodles or 拉车面 - Its basically stewed hokkien noodles swimming in garlic based soup with dried anchovies. It used to be a form of low-down food for those trishaw-puller back in the 60s.I dont think its a common dish that you would find in a hawker center nowadays. It might not look quite appealing at a glance, but it certainly taste better than what it look.Even thou it's simple without much fanciful ingredient, it has a full-bodied taste noodles with the fragrant broth.Very simple dish

Very simple dish with a slight hint of anchovies. Nostalgic taste.

The serving is rather small to be considered as a full meal.
But hey! Its $1.20/serving!

It's another form of experience to have some light, simple dish once in a while.
