I went for a late lunch. I wanted to order the green curry chicken but no more. I ordered the tom yum soup with rice for $5.50. The soup is served in a big bowl with a lot of ingredients like prawns and different types of mushrooms. The soup tasted just nice, not too sour or spicy. It went nice with the rice. I still like my green curry chicken but this tom yum soup is not bad too. I will try their pad thai next time. continue reading

FoodConsidering finding an authentic food in a hawker center is rare. Moreover portion is big and price is reasonable. The lady manning the stall is a thai lady. The standard of food is above average. Ordered a plate of phad thai that costs $5. consists of a big portion of phad thai, scrambled eggs, bean sprouts, 4 prawns, few stalks of spring onions, chopped peanuts and chopped dried chillis. I couldnt finish the portion of phad thai. Dont be deceived by the uninteresting color of the phad thai. The fragrance of chopped peanuts and dried chilli blends in very well. Phad thai tastes sweet but its not overly sweet. The minus point about the dish is the prawns. I guessed every where uses processed prawns. It will be perfect if she can replace this prawns with non processed ones.ServiceThe lady doesnt speak much but she is quite capable of handling the order and everything herself. One-Woman-Show. Although it is self service, customers do not have to wait at the stall, all she does is that when the food is ready. She just placed it somewhere visible in front of the stall and customers will come and collect. AmbienceHawker center ambience. Noisy.Pricevalue for money!Recommendations / TipsI will definitely return there for other dishes one day as I had heard her food is delicious. continue reading

A pleasant surprise indeed.I surely did not expect their green curry chicken can be this good. I regretted almost immediately as i choose not to take away a serving of this with the rice. After the first taste of the green curry sauce, i wanted a bowl of white rice badly. I can imagined how well the green curry chicken complemented the white rice. A generous serving of chicken pieces can be found with quite a few pieces of green brinja as well. The only disappointment gotta be the little pieces of bones found in the sauce. The chicken pieces were chopped into rather small pieces and that probably explained the pieces of bones in the sauce.I would definitely be back to try their other dishes. continue reading

I am so glad that many Thai nationals have chosen to set up stalls in different hawker centres instead of just congregating in Golden Mile Complex. It makes my love for Thai cuisine so much more accessible and here is one of my favourite Thai food stall The Glass Noodle Salad I had that day was a marvellous mix of flavours - salty, spicy and sour. The dish was made on the spot with fresh ingredients and bore different textures to the bite.It had black fungus which was just tender, not soggy, fresh coriander and spring onions, squid, cashew nuts, tomatoes and perfect glass noodles in a piquant fish sauce mixed with lime juice, chilli and sugar.A very refreshing dish on a hot day in a hot hawker centre! continue reading
