The siu yok fan here is nothing to shout about neither is it bad. The rice dish is pretty conventional being average tasting and generally not bad. Rice is basic plain rice while sio yok is sufficiently crisp and fatty. Pretty tasty served with a few pieces of fresh vegetables(cucumber) for freshness. The crunchy cucumber helps to cut the greasiness of the pork. However the price really shocked me when we got the bill, the takeaway lunch cost 15 dollars! Definitely not worth the high price! continue reading

It's my first time to TeaHouse, but I'm not quite impressed with the food. Their Signature roast pork ($13.80) tastes Ok at first, the proportion of fats and meat is alright too. However I reckon the pork skin is slightly burned and not crispy enough. Perhaps we just went on the wrong day.Oyster omelette ($8.50) doesn't not contain too much oyster, it's more like a normal omelet but pathetic few oysters inside. It doesn't taste like the usual oyster omelet where you get some crispy texture. Tanghoon paradize ($8.50), on the other hand, is super tasty. The flavour is good, moist and lots of well-seasoned minced meat. Yummy. continue reading

Was meeting some of my ex-colleague for dinner but as usual i was busy at work and was late for the gathering. So told them to go ahead to order and start first. They have ordered roast pork, crispy duck and broccolli. So as you can see, they have saved the dishes for me on a plate as i was late. When i was there, the dishes have turned cold so i have ordered a seafood tofu soup (something hot) for myself.Although the dishes have turned cold, but its still tasted very yummy and flavourful. The roast pork was very crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The crispy duck was quite nice also but i prefer ducks from dian xiao er.I liked the seafood tofu soup that i have ordered for myself. There was alot of tofu that i really liked. The broth was thick and has a slightly saltish seafood flavour, which was yummy. continue reading

We just wanted something light and simple and could only think of this restaurant by Asian Kitchen which we had tried this place before. We ordered half of their signature herbal duck dish, a egg omelette and a spinach soup with gooseberry. The duck was good with it's skin a little crispy and a herbal sauce(with a taste of Dang Kui) drizzled on it and the duck meat was tender. The egg was fried with shrimps and chinese sausages and really great in taste. The soup was simple, a little bland yet the ingredients used were fresh and the gooseberry did give a extra touch to the soup. continue reading
