Thai Express is the place to go for some authentic Thai dishes. Anyway I was there with a group of friends and we ordered a good variety of food.My friends and I ordered the soft shell crab with rice, tofu, prawn as well as laksa. Thai cuisine is known for its sour and tangy tastes and this is clearly represented in its dishes, especially the appetizers. The soft shell crab was tasty and worth ordering a second time should we return. It has the curry sauce on it which complements the dish very well. The prawn dish is something like French toast but it is fried with prawns. Quite interesting. The tofu was so-so only. Nothing special. Last but not least, the laksa was nice but the portion is a bit small, both vermicelli-wise and the ingredients. Still I had say Thai Express is worth a visit for Thai food lovers! continue reading

A friend gave a treat at Thai Express without any special reason, he is rich man indeed. As we know, he personally fancies about Thai Cuisine, Thai Express was the place he visited often. Expenses here were affordable and the food cooked based most typical flavour. I wanted something filling then I ordered rice. Quite an extensive choice, I took curried soft shell crab. Savoury broth poured onto dish, the overall taste was awesome. Crispy crab with finely texture, it was full of spices fragrant. Portion of rice was just nice, extra serving (Khao) was available too. Had a nice and very full lunch, we were all satisfying. continue reading

What i love about Thai Express is the various locations they have. It's usually quite convenient for me. And my all time favorite is their tom yum soup! It's pretty good for one which has many outlets. It has a good mixture of sour and spicy taste combine together! Very shiok despite making me sweat. One thing i also like about Thai Express is usually for all my visits, the ingredients are fresh which is very important. The fish slices for that night was good! For $11.30++, it didn't disappoint =) continue reading

This tom yam crayfish glass noodles was delicious and the portion was quite big. The tom yam soup was very flavourful, sweet and savoury in a sip. The glass noodles were smooth and springy and absorbed the tom yam soup really well. The crayfish was quite small but freshness compensated it, and the flesh was smooth and tender. After eating a tom yam dish, I decided to order a cooling mango drink. It was quite thick and creamy and has a rich mango taste. continue reading

My friend and I decided to meet up for dinner on Friday night. We have fixed the location at Bishan Junction 8 which is accessible by Bishan MRT station. Since it is dinner time, most of the dinning restaurants are either occupied or in queue list. We decided to have Thai Express and join the queue. The queue was least than 15 minutes before we are being seated. The distance between a table to another table is very near. I don’t really feel comfortable having next table so near as the conversation can be heard clearly. The staffs were busy attending to customers’ requests and orders. Despite that, the staffs still managed to respond to us quite promptly when we put up our hand to order. Iced waters are served to us while waiting for us to place an order. The foods are served within 15 minutes time and it is still piping hot condition. I ordered Poo Phat Pong Kari @ S$12.30. It’s my all time favourite plain rice with soft shell crab, egg and onion curry. The sauce was well prepared and it blends well with the plain rice. Soft shell crab is crispy and tasty with the sauce. My friend ordered Thai Sukiyaki Heng @S$11.30. It’s thai sukiyaki dry noodle which is superb spicy. When the noodle was served, we aren’t expecting it to be superb spicy as the appearance does not tell at all.We also ordered ala carte to go with our main course. Kraphoa Gai Kai Yeow Maa @S$9.30. It’s stir fried minced chicken with Thai basil and century egg. This is my first time trying this dish and I am loving it. The minced chicken smells great with thai basil. The century egg was nicely cut and blend into the dish.Tom Yum Talay @S$8.30 which is also known as tom yam seafood soup. It’s an all time favourite dish for Thai cuisine lover. Do not get deceived by it’s presentation. The soup was superb hot! I can’t take spicy stuffs so it is definitely not my choice. But my friend enjoyed it very much. He commented that the soup was strong and clear. The prawns are fresh and the fish slices taste fresh as well.Dinner was decent and affordable price for all levels. The restaurant provides good services in terms of attending to customers’ requests and the serving time is quite fast. However, if you wish to have a chit chat after dinner, this place will not be an ideal location as the turnover is high. There is people queuing outside the restaurants waiting to dine in. The staffs will promptly clear your table once you finished your foods. continue reading
