Was in the area of Holland V and decided to settle for Thai Express for our lunch as the pricing of its food are pretty wallet-friendly. My order, sweet and sour fish with rice. My friend thought this would be like those that we had at food centres "tzi-char" stalls. But to your dismay, it's not. Their sauce is different because it's much lighter and less sweet. Moreover, they uses fresh pineapples instead of can pineapples that are overly sweet to go along with the sauce. Worthy of a try, but if you compare the prices of "tzi-char" stall at around $5 with $10 at Thai Express, you might make do with the "tzi-char" taste. Moreover, we waited for pretty long for our meals to be served perhaps due to the lunch crowd! The service staff aren't very attentive as well, our drinks was served in wrong numbers and do not refill it when we had finish it till being asked to. continue reading

I have never been to ThaiExpress and I thought I should try the Thai food there because it is one of the common Thai restaurants in Singapore. Once I got in, I flipped to the noodles section of the menu. My eyes were searching for the word "Pad Thai" There were a few different type of Pad Thai such as Beef Pad Thai and Seafood Pad Thai.I chose seafood pad thai which cost $10.90. We ordered a side dish - Soft shell crab which cost $8.90.The soft shell crab was delicious, the meat was soft and juicy and it wasn't greasy. A sweet and sour sauce came with it too, when eaten with it, it tasted even better. Sweet, sour and crunchy Seafood Pad Thai was a disappointment, it was quite bland and my friend had the same sentiment. It didn't have enough flavours and the chili flakes didn't bring in the kick of spiciness. Although the portion was feeling but I have eaten better pad thai at a cheaper price with the same portion. Given that it was my first time at ThaiExpress and the pad thai was disappointing, I may consider this my last time dining at ThaiExpress again. continue reading

A good of thai rice... yum!! I really love Thai express's food, and it's really worth every penny going there to eat. Their food is affordable, delicious, and the service is impeccable for the money you are paying! I always order my soft shell crab rice set, as the sauce that they use for the soft shell crab is really delicious! The soft shell crab is also very crispy, and together with the mix of rice, it's pure heaven! It only cost $10.90 on the menu, and you get 3 pieces of soft shell crabs. On top of that, you have got to try their famous 'chendol'. There are fragrant jackfruit slices, colourful strains of chendol and red rubies in the coconut milk with a generous drizzle of the traditional Thai palm sugar. It's really delicious, though it can be quite heaty. Try it today! continue reading
