Do not be misleading by the restaurant name and thought that here only sell lamb dishes. The true is they sell lamb dishes and also many different types of western cruisines that are nice and delicious too. Love their pan fried chicken chop which the chicken meat is quite big in portion and the meat texture is thick, juicy and tender. The sauce is very fragrant and tasty too. Per plate is good enough to satisfy an adult. continue reading

This place is really great and I can't believe more people aren't raving about The Black Sheep Cafe already. We ordered a set meal each from the different tiers that they offered. The server was very attentive in offering you suggestions, introducing their dishes, and also refilling your water. What's great about this place is that there's no additional GST or service tax! After ordering, we were served our bread which still warm and toastyThe foie gras was perfect in size and how the foie gras was cooked.Duck Confit and Beef Tenderloin seemed to be the choices that food reviewers and the waiter said that customers would normally consume at the restaurant. Here's the Duck Confit from different angles. The mango salad side was great to complement the duck confit and if a change of flavor and texture was needed. The Duck Confit's meat was marinated well and at the same time juicy without making a mess of the plateHere's the beef tenderloin at different angles. The meat was cut perfectly and despite having sides that are offered on the airplane, the greens were fresh and tasted great. In each bite, you could really feel the tender and care that was put in each plate by the chef. Please note that the restaurant is closed on Sundays. continue reading

Friends wanted to eat at a French restaurant but I couldn't find a 'pure' French one. Black sheep Cafe has good reviews so we decided to go check it out. We had a foie gras to start and it was nicely pan-seared and tasty. Good thing it was to share else my calories will shoot thru the roof!! We also shared the Baked Brie Cheese. It's nice...just wish the starter plate wasn't so small....good size for 2 I guess.I had Lamb Shank with mash and it was done very nicely. Tender meat that falls off the bone. No funny smell to the meat. Satisfying meal. Hubby had their Beef tenderloin. It's nice and thick. The cut is also a rather good cut. I just a small problem with the seasoning. I can't quite explain what I don't like about it either. It just doesn't rock my boat. It's a nice enough place for a meal but personally, I'm not likely to return but would recommend to friends especially if they are in the area. continue reading

It was my third time here @ The Black Sheep Cafe. Lunch was preferred as I can have enjoy my food here in ”peace”. It was quiet during lunch but expect the restaurant to be running full during dinner. A piece of advice – Call ahead to make reservations !The Menu The food that regulars come back for- Baked Brie cheese & The Duck Confit. Caesar Salad with prawns ($12.50) I am a fussy eater. This Caesar Salad with prawns supposedly to come with bacon, croutons and parmesan cheese but I requested to omit all of them. I wanna have a simple & light Caesar salad with prawns. What stands out in this Caesar salad was the dressing. The dressing was home-made and it tasted very different from the traditional caesar dressing . It was slightly yellowish in colour and had a milder flavour. I enjoyed it ~Snapper fillet ($22.50) The daily specials for fish/seafood was the Snapper fillet. Although I had the similar the previous visit, I gladly would like to have this again. Anyway, there aren’t any choices. The fish was fresh, thick and firm. It comes with some potato mash and side vegetables which I enjoyed it. The potato mash has cubes of potatoes unlike some that are too mushy or creamy. It was a simple way of presenting the dish, no fanciful stuff. All I can say is” home-cooked food’. Verdict: Basically, there are 3 french food places in Little India and I asked Chef Ratha whether his business would be affected. He smiled and answered me with confidence ,” My style of cooking is traditional and many regulars still come back for my food after they have tried the another 2 ”. The confidence level is high and I’m glad this chef takes pride in his cooking.Do try out The Black Sheep Cafe if you wanna enjoy home-cooked food .No GST & SERVICE CHARGE continue reading
