The Café Cartel (Closed)

This is definitely a must try for everyone who has never tried the barberqued pork ribs at Cafe Cartel as this is one of their signature dish here. The pork ribs are very tender and juicy and the portion served to me is very generous as well. Love those crispy potato wedges as the side dish which goes along with it really well too. The price is reasonable and great to serve two adult for per plate if you and your friends are consider smaller eaters.

This western restaurant may have quite a nice cosy environment for dining, but I am quite disappointed with the soup that served here. I have tried their cream of mushroom and was really upset by the texture for being really dilluted and the taste of the mushroom is quite bland as well. The portion is also not that generous which make the price of it becomes quite high too. By having my meal to start with their disappointing soup, which you make my whole dining experience here quite a lacking

Mrupupup went to try the Cafe Cartel St Louis Pork Ribs. Loved the tender taste of the pork ribs in BBQ sauce. The Cafe Cartel outlet was not busy during dinner time. The Cafe Cartel staff at Nex Mall was good in their service. Take note that Cafe Cartel has stopped serving free flow of bread and now the bread need to pay. They were having a 1-for-1 pasta meal promotion for POSB card members. Upon seeing that, we decided to have our lunch there. Being one who loves pasta, I found this a good promotion. Sadly, they didn't have the pasta I like, which is Bolognese, but they had others that were quite close to bolognese. In the end, I ordered the cheese baked chicken penne in tomato based sauce. The chicken was nice, tough, with the melted cheese on top.

Used to patronize cartel for their pork ribs and pasta only and during that time (when they still warm free flow of bread), we love to dip the warm bread in creamy pasta sauce. The Cafe Cartel has always been a place I will go to when I am craving for pasta. Over the years when more and more outlets had opened, the once "the nicer pasta I ever had" had became average. I believe it apply to most businesses here in Singapore when they start to have another outlet. Often, quality is hard to maintain.During Café Cartel’s Happy Hours from 9pm, snacks, ice-cream, coffee drinks and cakes are 50% off! On top of that, there’s free flow of bread, so it’s a definite yes to visit

A poor choice of cake made, I was so looking forward to a nice slice of Tiramisu. The cake just tasted way too wet. The alcohol is there and it’s not overpowering, but somehow the cake just tasted off. The taste is a little plan to me, not that sweet and not that bitter. The only good thing is that it smells quite nice.

went down to NEX to walk around with my parents and decided to stop by at cafe cartel for dinner because there was no queue outside. the restaurant itself was also very empty on a weekend but perhaps we were too early for dinner. anyway we ordered carbonara, pork ribs and chef salad to share. the salad was not bad, quite generous portion of meat, carbonara was ok but pork ribs was really bad, very dry and we could hardly chew through the meat

It is not the watery kind. It is rich and thick. I love the bread crumbs in the soup. It gives it an extra crunch! they are very generous with their ingredients! The cheesy pizza is nice too, i shared it with friend. Cheesy pizza, smooth soup, absolute bliss!

i was walking around nex with my girlfriend and we decided to try out the café cartel. I ordered their Pan fried Prawn Spaghetti in Sambal sauce. it was really good. the sambal sauce tasted quite nice, it was not too spicy, had a sweetish taste and most importantly, it was tasty. They are very generous with their prawn. It is fat and juicy and very fresh. The spaghetti is very smooth and cooked perfectly. Really delicious!

This was the first time i tried Cafe Cartel's Hotplate mains. I ordered a chicken and garlic butter prawns which came with side servings of a baked potato topped with cream and bacon bits; and a garden salad. You can also choose which sauce you want - i had black pepper sauce. The other choice was mushroom sauce. I happened to be at Nex for a University event. Since it was around 10-11 PM, the only eatery that was open was Café Cartel. That trip was my first, and came to be my last.Since we were there for supper, I ordered a simple bowl of mushroom soup that, according to the menu, was supposed to come with a free flow of bread. After walking around, we realised that cafe Cartel was having an after 9pm discounts on all cakes, desserts and snacks. We brightened up after seeing the sign and decided to have our dessert there.We ordered a cheesecake to share amongst us. the cheesecake had just the right combination of chocolate and cheese. After a full dinner at Nex shopping mall, me and a group of friends went to hunt for an after meal snack. Andd we found Cafe Cartel! There was an after hours discounts on all cakes, ice cream and snacks. We decided to order this platter to share. The platter was a platter of calamari rings, nuggets, waffle fries and ecetera. They came with chilli and mayo and a mild wasabi mayo kind of sauce. The calamari rings were crisp and chewy. And it made a delicious after meal snack. The nuggets were nice
