My Berkshire Pork Chop $33++, coated with Mongolian glaze consisting of Hoisin sauce and black bean chili sauce, served on a bed of sautéed red cabbage. The pork chop was well cooked, meat was tender and easy to cut. However, the thick dark sauce was extremely salty.

Feedback was given to the staffs on the saltiness, they offered to cook another one but I rejected as my stomach could not accommodate another slab of pork chop.

Hubby's NZ Grass Fed Sirloin 200g $28++, served with Chips, baked Mushrooms & Tomato and béarnaise sauce. The beef doneness and taste was not too bad.

We weren't planning to order desserts but the restaurant staffs offered to serve them on the house, due to the earlier unsatisfactory pork chop dish. So we each picked a scoop of ice cream from the menu.

Dark Chocolate $9++ and Peach Sorbet $9++, both were surprisingly good with dense flavors and smooth texture.

Dining experience here was generally enjoyable. The restaurant has got nice ambiance and friendly service staffs, but the food here was lacking the wow factor. I personally prefer the Jamie's just a few steps away from this place. They produce more impressive pork chops at similar price tags, which I feel is worthy of repeated visits.

I got the clam chowder, which had a generous amount of clams! There were a few clams in every mouthful of soup that I slurped up - the most generous I've had compared to the clam chowders I've had at other restaurants.

I got the grass-fed steak (can't remember the cut and the weight) and it was sooo tender and soft. I chose medium rare and it was done perfectly. It was really easy to cut and chew, it was really good. I also liked the diced tomato and onion salad that you see at the top right hand of the photo. The only bad thing about this dish was that they served the steak with goma/Japanese sesame sauce, which overpowered the steak. However I simply shifted the steak to a clean part of the plate and problem solved

The service was also pretty good. I liked that one waitress came to check if the steak was done the way we like it shortly into the meal.

Was super satisfied with my lunch and I thought that the amount we paid ($29.50 after GST and service charge) was really worth it for the kind of quality of food that we got!

We have been wanting to try out this place since its opening, but there is always something that block our path. Anyway, since Little Devil's ('LD') BFF have a craving for lamb chop, we finally pop in there.
At first they allocate us in the centre dining area, seated at a table for 4 but the size is about 1 square metre which is more appropriate for table for 2. The atmosphere was gorgeous, with the view of Sentosa through its floor to ceiling glass windows. It is very romantic atmosphere, but anticipating the space to place our food, we request to be move to a bigger table.

We started the dinner with Crispy Calamari ($14) and Mussels Mariniere ($19). The calamari is tender yet slightly springy, coated with crispy batter. Seasoning is inconsistent, where some part can be bland while the other can be very salty. The Mussels Mariniere are perfectly executed where you can taste the wine in the broth. Unfortunately it was missing something to soak up the beautiful broth such as a bread or fries.

For Mains, LD ordered Australian Grass Fed T-Bone Steak (400g, $49). T-Bone steak consist of two type of cut, short loin (the small part) and tenderloin (the larger part), which created a challenge in cooking both of them to the right preference (ha.ha, one of the challenge in Master Chef Korea). As usual, LD loves her steak medium rare, and they only manage to deliver medium rare on the tenderloin side, but overcook the short loin part to medium. The meat are tender and juicy, and the creamy mash potatoes that come with it just so smooth, creamy and so delicious. Honestly, the mash potatoes are actually better than the steak, so we ordered another side of creamy mash ($7).

For my main, I have the USDA Prime Ribeye (200g, $36). It is cooked to medium rare as ordered. The meat is slightly chewy, not as tender as I expected from USDA prime ribeye. Sautéed potatoes are good and so does the accompanied peppercorn sauce. Portion is slightly small 200 gram, I wish they offer the 300 gram version. For the price I'm paying, I find the New Zealand standard steaks are so much better compare to the USDA in term of tenderness and price point.

LD's BFF ordered Australian Double Lamb chops ($31). She said it was quite disappointing as the meat is tough and one of them are charred.

For additional sides, we have the French Fries ($7) and creamy spinach ($8). Fries was double fried, probably with duck fat as it has that distinct crispiness and did not become soggy through the dinner. While the creamy spinach with onion is just smooth and tasty.

The Drink menu here is very extensive. Our choice for the drink of the night is Cool Mint ($8) – lychee, lychee juice, mint sprigs, ginger ale, and soda. Serving is quite huge, about 500ml.

The food menu offer quite extensive range, but it seems that the burger and their beef lollipop (braised beef shank size for 4 person) would be the better option compare to the steak. We decided to skip desserts here as we find what's on offer not enticing enough. The service is very good throughout and their service staff are very accommodating.

Overall, we find the food that we had during this visit did not really wow us. It just seems to be odd where the sides dish are so much better than the main meal. In this case the creamy mash, creamy spinach and French fries are the star, instead of the steaks. I'm not sure if we will return, maybe when we can't find better creamy mash in other place, we might just unconsciously return here.

On the recent Saturday, i came with my brother, sister in law and 2 other friends =)  The whole atmosphere is not bad but i will recommend outdoor seats cause indoor ones was kind of noisy due to the loud music. A bit hard to talk at times and i don't think my nephew likes it too. Hehe!

3 of us had different steaks - rib eye, sirloin , tenderloin while the rest had pork chop. Feedback was good for the meat dishes!

Calamari and the fries ( i like the sweet potato ones ) are for sharing!

I had the rib eye $36 which i have requested for it to be medium well. It turns out pretty good. Juicy and nice with the right amount of fats. Every single bite was delightful. However i noticed certain parts of my rib eye was kind of like red but i didn't complain cause the overall taste is good.

Pork Chop $32 - There were 2 servings of this and this item arrived at our table first. I must say it smells really good and taste wise, it didn't disappoint. Nice and juicy! One thing for sure, they handle their meats pretty well here and manage to maintain the juiciness.

Will definitely be back when i have any meat cravings!

The picture doesnt justify how much it looks in real life, mouth-watering! This is my second time trying ribs and I would say that, this baby back ribs sure taste much tender than the first one i tried. Personally, or most of the females, would prefer tender meat texture than the hard and chewy ones i guess? Also, i was offered a wide variety of sauces which I feel quite average. The portion is rather huge so I feel that it's perfect for couples too!

The appearance of the cheesecake looks like any other cheesecake to me, but the taste is impressive! I had never had such smooth texture of cheese before, accompanied by the crispy biscuits at the bottom! Perfect! However, I feel that the baileys taste was quite mild. I would prefer a slightly stronger alcohol taste. Overall, this dish would be perfect for those who doesnt take alcohol but would want to try something special once in a while!

My boyfriend and I visited The Chop House on a Thursday night at around 7pm. As we stepped in, we were greeted with a cosy atmosphere created by the warm yellow lights. The music playing in the background provided a nice ambience and we also spotted a television which could potentially provide some entertainment if you are bored! The place was filled with the sounds of friendly chatter and it was pretty crowded even though it was a weekday night. This hinted of the quality of the food served here, a prelude of what was to come.

As we scanned through the drinks list, my boyfriend had his eyes set on the Sunraysia pineapple juice ($8). On the other hand, my attention was instantaneously grabbed by the hot chocolate by Ghirardelli ($7), which sounded especially good because I’ve tasted Ghirardelli chocolate and it’s delicious! So hot chocolate it was for me.

My hot chocolate arrived with a small cranberry cookie on the side. I love it when the hot drink comes with a cookie as you get to savour it before the main course arrives (definitely helpful when your stomach is growling for some food). Unfortunately, the hot chocolate itself did not leave a deep impression on me. It wasn’t as rich and chocolaty as I expected it to be, unlike Ghirardelli chocolates I have tried before. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the cookie, which had bits of chewy and tasty cranberry in it.

My boyfriend enjoyed his pineapple juice, which was tangy and refreshing. It is definitely a good option if you wish to get your taste buds alive and kicking before the main course is served.

For the main course, my boyfriend and I shared the Italian Style Braised Short Ribs ($40), which was served with potatoes, alfalfa sprouts, asparagus, cheese and tomato sauce. When it was presented to us, the dish looked a little gooey from all the sauce and cheese. However, after I took my first tentative bite, I was amazed and converted – it was delicious!

The meat was cooked to perfection, tender and yielding easily to the pressure of the knife. After chatting with the staff, we found out that beef tenderloin (which is one of the softest parts of the beef) was used for this dish, which explains why the meat was so tender and juicy. The tomato sauce complemented the meat well and provided a zesty and invigorating flavour to the dish. We were also presented with three mini jars of condiments – 1) Onion jam with white wine vinegar, 2) Chilli mustard, 3) Beetroot chutney.

Out of these three, my favourite was the onion jam. The explosion of sweetness from the onion was delightful and addictive and I couldn’t help but add heaps of it to accompany my food. My boyfriend enjoyed the chilli mustard thoroughly too and I believe those who have a thing for spice would also fancy it. In addition, the asparagus and alfalfa sprouts added a touch of lightness to offset the heaviness of this meaty dish. It was refreshing to be able to intersperse mouthfuls of meat with nibbles of the crunchy yet juicy asparagus. The mashed potato was also a lovely complement. It was fluffy and flavourful, and it was almost like I was eating a creamy cloud! I could have gone on eating it forever! On the whole, the braised short ribs dish was very well-balanced, with the many different tastes coming together to complement each other beautifully. This dish will definitely be a delectable treat for your taste buds! The portion was just right, leaving us satisfied but not bloated, and we still had some room for dessert.

We had a tough time deciding which dessert to get as they all sounded yummy! We finally decided on the Dark Chocolate Ganache Tart ($12). There was a meringue on top of the tart, light and crispy. It was fun feeling it disintegrate when I put it in my mouth and I like that it was not overly sweet. The crust of the tart was crunchy but I felt that it was a little too dry and hard for my liking. It would have been nice if it was more buttery, but I guess this ultimately boils down to personal tastes and preferences. But the star of the show would unquestionably be the dark chocolate ganache. When I placed the cool rich chocolate in my mouth, it instantaneously melted and gave way to a wondrous feeling of bliss you get when you eat really good chocolate. The hint of bitterness in the rich chocolate flavour was intoxicating, so if you love dark chocolate, this is unmistakably the dessert for you!

However, if you are not a fan of dark chocolate, do not worry as they have other desserts such as The Chop House Bailey’s Cheesecake ($9) and Apple Strudel in Tortilla with Vanilla Ice-Cream ($11), which all sound really unique and awesome!

In general, the staffs were very professional, friendly and efficient. They constantly checked up on us and also sincerely asked us whether we enjoyed the food. We learnt from them that many of the food items were home-made, which is a major plus point. For example, we were told by a staff that the cranberry cookie and the 3 condiments (onion jam, chilli mustard and beetroot chutney) I mentioned previously were not purchased from factories but made in their own restaurant! Their dedication to their food is impressive and you can be sure that there is standard to the food that they serve. I think that the pride they place on their food is commendable and speaks volumes of this food establishment.

On the whole, I feel that dining is not solely about the food but also about the experience and the staff at The Chop House made this dining experience a wonderful and memorable one! While it might be a little heavy on the pocket (especially for students who do not have any source of income), I think The Chop House would be a great place to celebrate a special occasion or hang out with your friends, enjoying the night away

Both platters were okay, with the preference for the mixed seafood which came with 4 succulents big prawn, grilled sotong and salmon. The only complain we got was the serving was too tiny for the price.

I ordered the Italian Style Braised Short Ribs ($40) for two, to share with my girlfriend. It is definitely worth the try. Honestly, I didn't know what I was eating at first. I had no idea if it was pork, lamb or beef. As I am a beef lover, whenever I have steaks, I would have it in medium rare, as the meat would be juicy and tender. However, when I cut the Short Ribs, I realised that it was "well done" on the inside, it was not red at all. I thought it was going to be dry. To my surprise, the meat was still juicy, tender and succulent. I asked around and they told me it was beef. I was dumb-founded. I still could not believe that beef could still be juicy, tender and succulent despite the colour. The beef was accompanied by Potatoes, Roasted Bell Peppers, Asparagus, Fresh Mozzarella Cheese and Tomato Sauce. It was a unique dish that I have never came across before, the potato was mixed with the above mentioned and the taste was amazing.

Here's how the dish looks like:

The end the meal, I had their dessert; Apple Strudel in Tortilla with Vanilla Icecream($11). It was one unique dessert that I will go back to have it again. Inside the apple strudel in tortilla had sweet raisins with apple soaked in cinnamon with a bit of granolas. It was luke warm and with the compliments of the cold vanilla icecream, it was just the perfect combination. Here's how my dessert looks like:

The prices of the food there ranges from $25 - $50 per item for the main course, and $8 - $15 for the desserts.

Lastly, I would like to applaud the service crew. The service crew was very friendly and helpful, and also very efficient. They were fast in helping you clear your plates after having your meals to make sure you are comfortable around a cleaner table rather than a messy table. Isn't it better to have a cleaner table to chat with a cup of beer or a messy table? Definitely the cleaner one right. They were also very efficient in refilling the glass of water that I had. In almost less than 3 mins after drinking finish the cup of water, they would come and offer a refill.

I would recommend this place for gatherings, and couples who just want to sit there, have a meal and chill. Its a very cosy place that one will love.

While stepping into the restaurant, I felt so welcomed the warmly lit cosy environment with chic designs and sturdy furnishings around. To the left where our drinks were all prepared and where the bar tenders do their mixing was pretty attractive with its racks filled with bottles of Alcoholic drinks as well as wine glasses.

A choice of chicken or beef. Claimed the best quesadillas in town. There were 4 slices, each with tomatoes and jack's cheddar cheese and they were folded into a bread tortilla. 3 kinds of sauce, guacamole, sour cream and salsa pico de gallo was served together. A good starter to go especially when its cheese is melted and tortilla is crispy.

It's burger time! Each of us ordered a set of burger which comes with tater tots (fried slices of potatoes or mini harsh-browns) in a steel basket. These bite sized harsh-browns were fried to crisp golden brown and gave off a loud crunch when chewed.

Patty were homemade and every meal was served in a wooden chop board. The Chop House Pork Burger being one of the recommended dishes was filled with homemade pork patty with an asian twist.

Featuring the beef patty, crisp bacon, sharp cheddar cheese and the chop house BBQ sauce! The sauce tasted rather salty and was rather "biting" to my lips towards the end. The buns, however, was toasted and spread with a layer of butter. Together with the fragrance from the butter and crunch of the toast, it had given another level of texture to the burger.

All in all, their service, though friendly , it was lacking from the way a common diner would have expected. A little more attention to customers would be better like promptly clearing of emptied dishes and topping up of drinking water. Serving of drinks could be alot faster after ordering.

Food wise, perhaps the starring portion was its home-made patty and its overall presentation of serving on a heavy wooden chop-board with a silver basket of tater tots. It's a good experience for burger to be serving in such way instead of the conventional wrapped up burgers we got from fast food chains. However if you want cheaper version and free flowing of drinks, in my opinion, Carl's Junior will be the budget friendly alternative.

My adventure for the Chop House will not just stop at burgers and Quesidillas, I will be back for more, hopefully a better service rendered during the next round!

The Chop House is presented from the Wooloomooloo Group that are the brains behind the famed Wooloomooloo Steakhouse. The Chop House offers a casual dining concept that can be seen from it's full ceiling to floor windows and outdoor semi-waterfront dining area.

You will be greeted with the wooden entrance and the signage of The Chop House. We were there on a Sunday night and we had thought that we could immediately be seated as there was no queue at the entrance. It was only when we were told by the waitress at the door that we had to wait for 20 minutes that we found out that they had a waiting list. Bent on eating some steak that night, we decided to wait. However, we were only seated about 40 minutes later as the waitress explained that they were facing service staff shortage as they were newly opened.

The Chop House pride themselves for their burgers. We were recommended by the waitress to try the Patty Melt. We were not for burgers that night, thus, we gave it a miss. We would however, come back to try their burgers soon! They offer seafood grill, sausages and a range of steak and sides. We felt that the prices of food offered were quite reasonable, consistent with their goal of presenting a casual dining experience.

The USDA Prime Rib Eye ($36) caught the eyes of Z. It was served with fried onion streaks, salad and some gravy to go with the steak. The steak was really delicious and done very well. The meat was juicy, flavorful and tender. When placed into the mouth, the meat was full-flavored and coats the palate perfectly. You don't have to dip the meat into the gravy as it has great flavor on its own.

Australian Grass-fed Beef Tenderloin ($27) was tasty as well. The meat was moist, juicy with a slight chewy texture. We also liked the baked potato that complemented the steak was soft with buttery notes. The rocket salad provided a balance to the whole dish.

I chose the Berkshire Pork Chop ($32). It is difficult to find juicy and succulent pork chop cuts as they tend to be dry and hard. The pork chop in The Chop House was juicy but, the texture was still on the hard side. I would love it to be less tough. I like how the pork was marinated as it did not overpower the pork's own flavor. Like the steak, it came with streaks of fried onion, some salad and baked potato. I enjoyed the pork chop with the streaks of fried onion as I felt that it brought out a sweet flavor when eaten together.

Drinks wise, The Chop House offers a variety of beers such as Mata from New Zealand, Mac’s Great White Cloudy Wheat Beer, Pure Blonde Premium Lager, and Schneider Wiesse Tap 7. They have a self-serve beer tap where patrons can buy a stored value card and purchase fresh tap beers with it. Beers at happy hour range from $12.

Overall, we felt that the steak did not disappoint and we felt that the prices of the food were reasonable. The ambience of The Chop House was great for drinks with friends over some sides and meat. One thing we felt that has room for improvement was their service. The service was slow and the waiting staff were not meticulous enough. Having said that, we would definitely return to try their burgers!
