Fish and Chips ($12.80++)
Crispy snapper fillet. Served with french fries, coleslaw and tartare sauce. Served with fresh fruit yogurt.
The serving looked big and more for enough for the little one.

Coco Carousel ($16++)
Best eat the Over The Top Milkshake as fast as possible, because the toppings were dropping all over place in no time. The drink was quite chocolatey. By the way those rock like bites are chocolates too.

Bacon & Mushroom Fettucine with Truffle Oil ($22)
bacon, forest mushrooms, truffle oil, fettucine and egg-drop cream sauce
Although it was quite rich and creamy but tasted not bad.
Also ordered the 3 course Christmas meal ($42++) which was available till 2 Jan 2017.

Simmered with prawns, mussels and white fish, served with garlic toast.
The soup was rich and creamy but got cold very easily.

Turkey Parcel with Onion-Cranberry Sauce (ala carte $26)
Pulled turkey and garden vegetable wrapped in savoury crepe, topped with tiger prawns. Served with onion-cranberry brown sauce.
The serving was too much that I easily got full after a couple of mouthfuls.

Raspberry Cheese Parfait (ala carte $11)
Raspberry cheese parfait, giant red macaron, raspberry coulis, and fresh raspberries
The parfait was quite creamy and not too sweet, which I spread it on the macaron and ate it like an open sandwich.
Overall the servings were huge but tasted average.

Interestingly the cafe has a huge TV screen above the counter which is broadcasting a Premier League football match live. It is rare to find a place that show football match live and is not crowded and noisy. Great place to relax and enjoy the match.

As it is late, the kitchen is closed and only small snacks, desserts and drinks are available.

This drink on the other hand is too thick and rich. My partner needs glasses of iced water in order to finish it.

Flourless Coca Torte with Coffee Crumble ($10++)
Flourless torte made with 64% coca and coffee crumble. Served with mixed berries compote.
This comes highly recommended by the staff who served us. Although it is quite rich but I could not taste any coffee taste in it. The berries compote is a bit too sour to match with the rich coca torte.

Overall the food is average but the place is quite relaxing.

The good thing about Robert Timms is that they aren't that popular, and so, it's usually about 80% (maximum) filled, which adds to the lazy morning feel of the place. You don't ever feel rushed to finish up so the next group hanging out in the ridiculously long queue outside the cafe can occupy your table. The place is also relatively quiet (people speak in hushed tones here) so it's really quite a relaxing place to chill for hours. However, there's a reason for the cafe's lack of a crowd. The food is just average, even if the price range is very reasonable and it's one of the cheaper brunch places in town. The truth is, you can get better eggs elsewhere. Still, balancing Robert Timms' great ambience against its so-so food, it kind of evens out. I'll be back

Anyway, the first thing that caught my eye was the seize of their macaroons and their carrot cake. I remembered telling my friend that i would look like a mouse holding on to that macaroon to eat.

Since both of us weren't hungry, we ordered a couple of main sides and warm beverages. Like what my titles said, are the servings here for Giant sized people? The Cheesy Bolgnoise Criss cut Wedges portion was huge. It is definitely not a side dish i tell you! And we were not expecting the Calamari Rings to be the same as well. Loved how the place here is generous with the portion,

The Caramel Coffee was just heavenly for me.. Im definitely definitely definitely coming back here again!

I love the ambience at Robert Timms @ Wheelock. It's laid back, cool (literally, the aircon is GREAT on a warm day), and the food & drinks are spot on. Decided to be slightly more daring and try a more unusual dish - Kangaroo meat in red wine sauce on a bed of mash potato. Firstly the mash potato is nice! Plus the biscuit things that came with it. The meat is quite dense, kinda like red meat, and slightly chewy. But I don't fancy the sauce too much because I can taste the red wine quite distinct

I LOVE this dessert - the Sticky Date Pudding. It's not really a cake, nor really a soft pudding. It's like a sponge cake but denser and they pour this gorgeous caramel sauce over it and paired with a scoop of delicious vanilla ice cream. Must try!

So a meet up between my old group of friends we headed over to Robert Timms, the service staff was there to greet us promptly. Since there was no smoking table, my friends and i had no choice but to move in to the air-conditioned area. The seats were very comfortable and i felt really good.

Once the smoking table was available, the waiter called us immediately. My friends and i shared an Eggs Benedict. This was really awesome as the yolk melted and broke very nicely. This is probably the only time i like my eggs runny apart from mixing it with sambal fried rice. Servings were quite small but the price wasnt that bad.

Upon which, we ordered our drinks, one of my friends had a hazelnut latte which was delightful! Very aromatic and tasty while my other friend had some frappe, it tasted pretty good but i was not very happy with mine maybe coz i dont really like sugar. I order some banana chocolate frappe which was extremely sweet! Not to my liking but if you guys like sweet stuff... this is one treat for you.

Overall an awesome experience...

the pancetta in this pasta had some off smell. didn't really like it. but the creaminess of the sauce was great. love the mushrooms and the pasta which is cooked nicely and not too soft or hard. the overall dish is a bit salty, probably to counteract the creaminess. the wait for the food can take a while. service is lacklustre and slow. it's a good location to people watch. as the service was so slow, we cancelled our dessert orders. about $22

this pasta came out with lots of red bits in it - red sausage, red mince, red oily sauce, red chillies. so it was not a surprise that it was very spicy when placed in the mouth. the chorizo was tasty but the extra spiciness was a bit too much. took a long time to finish this dish as it was so spicy. the presentation was nice in a huge big bowl. the pasta was al dente. definitely need to order a cold drink to go with this. cost about $25. service is pretty lousy and slow.

The herb roasted half chicken is very fresh and the chicken flesh is very tender. Although the dish is named herb roasted, but I could hardly taste the herb taste. The onion brown sauce is very special with the unique taste and the mixture of the chicken meat, the dish is simply superb. Plus the all-time favorite criss cut fries. The whole dish is well-balanced.
