Had our dinner at Manhattan Fish Market for one of our gathering, the restaurant was full to brim. Queue was never ending, advance reservation was highly recommended. Complimentary drinks, Lime Soda I guessed, was given while we lining up, the service was impressive. Unfortunately, the restaurant was quite squeezed and table space was too limited to put our food.Extensive Menu, there was a lot of Seafood-themed dishes despite of Fish. Helpful and prompt service, the waiting time for food serving was pretty fast. Well, talking about my Fishy Chicky set, it was adorable I must say. Discovered it was actually chicken on top layer and Fillet on bottom layer, it was really a huge surprise. Tangy tender flesh, batter was chunky crispy. Dory and chicken were sheer perfection indeed, combination was tasty succulent. Added a beautiful sunny side up along with fries, the set was worthwhile and filling. This is not my first time eating Manhattan but this is the worst outlet I had been too. We came in big group of 9 person for birthday celebration and they do not allow customers to keep their cake in the fridge. So we try to hide behind our bags so that the birthday boy couldn't see. Then, some of friends get their food served in 10 minutes and some waited for 30 minutes. I think is quite ridiculous when the table of 8 which comes after us got all their food served. I was so angry that I almost scolded the waitress. A hungry man is always an angry man. well, when the food was served to my table, other than the flaming prawns, the rest didn't meet the standard that other outlets provide. The fried food are all cold, i don't why too cause the flaming prawns and the raisin rice was served warm. The vegetable was so hard to chew on. TGIF with The Manhattan Fish Market!I received their coupon booklet in my mail and decide to bring my friend over to have dinner there!I was shocked by the crowd!Apparently the fact that it was Friday and that many people have got the coupon too made the queue extra long!!!I think i queued like 20mins or so to go in! We immediately went in and ordered with the coupon their fish and chips with cheese, it was going at 1 for 1 deal!I love the fact that they did not compromise their quality and quantity of the dish!!!It was the same as if you just only ordered usually!!!! Fish is chips is served nice. Crispy fired fish and served with cheesy fries. Although the fries is a bit cold maybe due to too many people eating that time. Talking about seafood platter, Manhatten Fish Market is one of the destinations that'll come to my mind - MFM serves a very decent version of it, perfect for a quick seafood fix.Manhatten Flaming Seafood Platter, $37.95One of the top sellers of MFM. It comes with a generous serving of fish fillets, oysters, calamari, tiger prawns, chips and veggies on garlic herb rice - more than enough to fill 2 people.I love how the fish is so soft and juicy, and that the calamari is coated with delicious batter and fried to perfection. I also love the abundance of cheese melted on the crunchy and juicy tiger prawns, and the garlic herb rice that has been infused with lots of flavours!However, I witnessed an inexperienced staff over-flaming a seafood platter at an adjacent table, charring their prawns and the rice surrounding the prawns. If it had happened to me, I probably wouldn't have enjoyed the experience as much because I wouldn't fancy eating prawns that have been charred bitter. Was searching for a dinning place for lunch since we cant make it for Tim Ho Wan as it requires 3 hours of waiting time. As there are no queue for Manhattan Fish Market, I just walked into the restaurant and instantly we secured a seat.We ordered meals with our main course that comes along with soup of the day and ice lemon tea.Initially I wanted to order cod fish but they were out of stock. Manhattan's 1-for-1 promotions are back!! The queue is super long and we had to wait ~20minutes before being ushered to a seat. Service was quite friendly though and pretty efficient too, so the queue moves quickly.Went for the Grilled Dory Glory (UP$12.95 per plate!) and a bowl of Clam Chowder ($5.50), both of which came within 10 minutes to our delight!The clam chowder is nothing much, it tastes pretty much like (diluted) mushroom soup with bits of clams in it that had a fishy(?) smell. Not that fantastic, but it was warm and welcoming. It went down quite well but we felt it was rather diluted for a chowder.The main: Grilled Glory Dory came with buttered rice, a side of boiled vegetables, grilled dory with a lemon garlic sauce and a chilli sauce on the side. A special mention to the chilli, it's a tangy, sweet chilli sauce with a hint of lemon grass. Very refreshing when eaten with the fish even though the lemon garlic sauce is good on its own. The buttered rice and the vegetables were slightly disappointing though. The rice had little flavour and the vegetables were slightly overboiled. Other than that, the fish was fresh but not overcooked, and the sauces were splendid!Honestly, the standard dropped by A LOT from the last time I'd visited, and maybe it's just due to the crazy volume of people during the one for one. The first time I tried Manhattan flaming platter, I grew in love with it. It tastes simply awesome! I like the flaming prawns and the herb rice very much! The prawns were fire sprayed right in front of my eyes and the prawns infused together with the flaming sauce tasted superb! I will always request for extra flaming sauce! Usualy when I visit this restaurant, i wil normally order their signature fish and chip. This time, I decided to give it a try on their side dishes. I have ordered their fried mushrooms, which the portion was not really generous. The outer layer crust is crispy, but I suppose this crust is abit too thick in texture. Ordered the regular Manhattan Fish n Chips, which are my absolute favourite. It was part of the promotion, where 2 set meals were at $19.90. I love the sauce they put on the fish. It makes the fish taste that much better. The fries with the spice powder are a favourite too!The service was pretty ok, and I was really amazed with our server's memory. I say i dont give many hoots off a camels back!Manhattan Fish market is the place to go for some nice fish and chips!Went there after my work that day to chill and dine with some of my frenz! We had a blast as we were laterally making a lot of noise.ordered the dory fish and chips and boy i cant tell you how happy i was was putting that fish into my mouth! From the pond to the fryer.. in my mouth and down my throat! This was so awesome!!It came with a lemon wedge and i asked for more because i like to put it in my fries!
