We chanced upon this restaurant and tried it out for dinner...My loved one try their spring chicken and I'm just sharing with him...Was presented in a appealing manner but it didn't taste much tasty though all I can say is so-so, compare with outside "Tender Chicken" located at Food court, their Spring Chicken way more BETTER than The Mussel Guys Restaurant...Didn't find anything special about this restaurant...I won't recommend a visit as there are many better restaurants in Vivocity...

3-course Set lunch, a choice of Garden Salad or Coleslaw, a choice of Soup, a choice of Main course from a list of 23 items.
Garden Salad with lemon dressing, & Mussel Chowder soup (add $2++ for choice of soup) : The garden salad is very small, hardly can taste the dressing.
Coleslaw with Seafood Medley Soup (add $2++ for choice of soup) : A lot of items including prawns and sotong rings in the soup, much better than the Mussel Chowder.
Grilled Chicken and Chipolata Sausages with Mushroom Sauce ( add $2++) : Very big amount.
Tiger Prawns Aglio Olio : Not very filling. A bit cold.
Sweet and Sour Fish : Not bad, sweet and crispy.

My friends and I had reached the restaurant at around 1240pm. I had expected to be greeted with a crowded restaurant given that it was the dreadful lunch hour hence I was pleasantly surprised to see only two groups of diners having their meals there. For that price, I would think that it is affordable since if you are to come in for dinner and order from the a la carte items, the total cost will definitely be much more.

 My main course- aromatic rice with grilled dory fish and chessy sauce. The fish was grilled to perfection and I liked how the sauce had complemented nicely with the fish though I find the rice a tad too hard to chew and to me the rice tasted like coconut rice though my friend begged to differ, saying that it might be chicken rice. Nevertheless, I find that the taste of the rice do goes well with my main course, though it can get a little too 'overloading' towards the end of the meal.

Service wise, the staff which served us did not have a good command of English and a qualm that I had was how I was given a malfunctioning plastic cup- that leaked and created a small puddle of water around the cup. All in all what I enjoyed most was the nice view, through the window of the harbour- surely a nice place to go on a date in. Given the steeper price of the food, as suggested by other diners, I would suggest heading there for the lunch set!

The mussel guy is more of a seafood western cusine. The crowd there are always a lot of people and after so long, I finally went to try out. There was a queue but it did not take too long for us to get our seats. They have lots of seafood items, but it was not very worth it for the price paid. The food tasted normal, but was more expensive. Seafood were quite fresh, not very fresh.

The Mussel Guys Restaurant for dinner. Ordered their cream mussels which was not too fresh. It was also priced abit to steep considering the fact that their portion is quite small. The mussels were abit quite oily and it was just hard to finish eating all of them even though there were easily less than 10 mussels. Could be better. Keep going, The Mussel Guys Restaurant!

The mussel guys!I was recommended by my friend who said that the fish and chips they serve are quite nice and of reasonable price.When the food is served, I am quite surprise that they come in large portions, given that the price is considered not to be expensive.My friend ordered the spaghetti too and it was average.The food includes a set with drinks.My friends and I are really full when we finished our portions and we felt it was quite worth it.

Upon entering, the restaurant is very big and spacious and there is outdoor seating available with a good sea view. Mushroom soup is like those campbell canned ones. Very common and a little blend. Had seafood baked rice for main dish, it wasn't fresh at all and the rice is really plain and tasteless. Mussels had an unpleasant taste and smell. Terribly awful! We had to chase a number of time for our food and bill. All in all, service is horrendous, over-priced low quality food. The only plus point is the ambience and view. Will not patronise again!
