brought a bowl of the pontian wanton noodle for lunch. First of all, the seasoning is pretty well done as the chili is hot and spicy, slightly oily and not that salty. Next the noodle is well cooked and is not stick together. As for the deep fried wanton, it has a slight crispiness and the filling is quite little. The sliced char siew is sliced into thin slices and have a slight tender texture. Lastly, the wanton soup is quite bland and comes with 2 small wanton. Apart from wanton noodle, this stall also sells laksa, ipoh hor fun and other noodles as well. continue reading

I ordered the curry chicken noodles from old pontian cafe. I found their curry chicken a little milky. it was not too spicy actually. for the chicken, it was an entire chicken wing which comprise of the drumlet, mid joint and the end. the chicken was very tender and juicy. it went well with the yellow noodles. the yellow noodles was pretty yummy, did not have the strong yellow noodles taste. it was not bad in fact. continue reading

The wanton mee at Old Pontian comes in two sizes, small or large. You can also choose if you want soup or dry, chilli or non chilli. I ordered their large size noodles, opted for dry without chilli. The portion of the large size bowl was just enough for me. the amount of noodles they gave was really a lot. They added dark sauce to my noodles. The black sauce made my noodles taste really tasty despite not having the chilli flavor. the char siew were sliced thinly. they also added a lot of vegetables to the dish making it really healthy. There are four pieces of wanton, two in the soup and two fried ones added to the noodles. continue reading

After dropping by at the in-laws place, we headed to lot one for a meal. Was craving for wanton noodles so headed to old pontian to satisfy that crave. I ordered the smaller bowl while my hubby got the bigger one. Their wanton mee comes in two sizes. I prefer their dry non spicy one. The gravy is so tasty. It is not too salty but goes really well with the noodle. Their noodles are very QQ and springy. Very delicious. They have two kinds of wanton, the fried kind and the soup kind and you get to enjoy the best of both world! Really enjoy the meal. continue reading
