The venue for this restaurant is really good, but the food standard here is still quite weak. Especially their service, super poor, not attentive to your request and no smile at all. Their shrimp rolistick was quite awful, which is covered with thick popiah skin and not much prawn meat can be found in it. It is also not really that crispy and is also too oily. NO special sauce is provided to dip this dish as well. continue reading

Bought a deal for this buffet meal. The Orange Lobster.Lobster porridge seem at first, special .. and really .. the taste of it is really NICE. The lobster they give is big.As we bought the deal buffet, we only got items that is shown in the menu to order. So we order every item one time 1st as we dont want to waste any food left over. As they may charge you for wasteage. The food came fast once you pass the order to the server. This make me guess is the food cook in large amount as the customer only can order a fixed menu given for everyone that came. But all the dishes that given in the menu, you must try at least one time.Drink and dessert is not included in the deal. The server I notice was not much there as i and my gf is seated inside. As we will seated at the end, we can view the rest of OC. Nice view.Overall dinner at The Orange Lobster nice but expensive. So must look up for deal. Cheer .... continue reading

The orange lobster restaurant is now having the 1-for-1promotion Hairy Crab 6-course set menu ($88++) for DBS credit card. The set menu consists of the dishes stated as below:Fresh fruits (apple, mango etc) wrapped in the crepe in a sour sauce, very appetizing. However, with the over-powdering of sourness, I couldn't really taste the sweetness of sea urchin, which is kind of a waste! The set menu consists of the Signature Live crab porridge, but you can change it to the Signature Lobster porridge with an additional of $10. A good bargain indeed. The lobster is so huge and fresh, firm to bite! And the porridge itself is riched in seafood flavor and tasted really good. For those who love the crab roe, surely will fond for this. The crabs weighed about 170-180gm each, and were served with vineger and ginger tea.Lotus was sliced into very thin layers, and deep-fried till very crispy! Coated with salted egg and curry leaves, the dishwould go pretty well with beer. Nice to snack on, but remember to dig in before they lose the crispiness! This dish tastes a bit like grandma cooking. With the sweetness shrimp, it makes a perfect dish to go along plain porridge! The set meal ends with the Chef's dessert, ours was Durian Fireball. It's a deep-fried glutinous rice ball, with the durian paste in it. Overall speaking, we had a good experience dining in this restaurant because the seafood is really fresh and taste good. But the restaurant is very busy, so most of the time you might need to wait a little longer or wave a little harder to get the waitress' attention. continue reading
