Bought a cake from royal cakes for my Mom's birthday! Similar to the logcake size. They also allow you to sample the flavours before buying! (really good scheme!)This is the coffee cake as my mom loves coffee! I love this cake a lot even though I'm not a fan of coffee flavour. It was really really soft, as though I was eating tofu! I also like that the flavour wasn't overpowering but a nice taste that lingers in your mouth even after you've taken your last bite. There was also this thin glossy layer of jelly which was really nice to eat! This will be the place I'm going to go to get cakes for my friends during their birthdays! continue reading

I was craving for something sweet but as I walked pass other bakeries, the price of their cakes were rather pricey. I was so pleased to see that the royals actually sold a piece of their black forest cake for only $2.20. despite the price, there were a lot of fruits inside. The cake was very moist and there was not much creamy so I guess it was not so fattening. No matter how sinful it was, it was very satisfying. continue reading

I ordered the mocha walnut cake from royals. Each slice cost $1.80, it may seemed pretty pricey for a fairly small slice of cake. However when you cut into the cake, you will know that it is worth every cent you are paying for. Too bad I was a little careless when I was carrying the cake that the top layer of cream smudges against the container. Nevertheless, the cake was good, very moist. You can find bits and bits of walnut among the mocha cake. Really delicious. continue reading

Bought a shepherd pie as snacks for lunch. Firstly, the potato is well cooked and mashed, soft and smooth texture, nice aroma and have a slight crispy layer on the top. The mashed potato is also well seasoned, not too bland nor salty, with a light black pepper taste. As for the fillings, it includes minced chicken cooked with mixed vegetables, sliced mushroom with tomato sauce. The fillings are well cooked and season as well. The fillings goes well with the mashed potato and come in two different flavours which is the chicken and beef flavours. continue reading

Royals Cafe is a kiosk bakery located at the basement level of Lot One shopping mall. They have many different types of cakes, cookies and pastries. There were some samples and I tried the Mocha Walnut cake, it was delicious and fresh. It only cost $1.80 for a small single rectangular piece.I bought a box of Swiss Rolls (4 pieces). They weren't too sweet and the best part was that it was in a mixture of 4 different flavors: strawberry, chocolate, original vanilla and coffee. I like having varieties. My favorite was the chocolate one of course.Great cakes to share the joy. continue reading
