Tian Shui Hainan Chicken Rice is just right next to the famous Wei Yi Laksa and Prawn Mee, another popular hawker stalls in the Tanglin Halt Market and Food Centre. Tian Shui Hainan Chicken Rice selling both the steamed white chicken and roasted chicken. We decided to evaluate both of them. When we compared the chicken rice from Tian Shui Hainan Chicken Rice to other good chicken rice that we have evaluated, the difference seems to be fairly distinct; the rice here was missing the fragrance from the chicken stock and the flavour from the seasoning. The plate of rice though was grainy but overall taste was rather one dimensional and lacked of the enthusiasm expected from good chicken rice. May be the chicken rice here was less oily and hence made it a healthier choice for those with more health conscious. While the rice may not be too appealing to the taste buds, both the steamed white chicken and roasted chicken somehow compensated the shortfall with its tender and juicy meat. Instead of the traditional soy sauce, Tian Shui Hainan Chicken Rice replaced it with the gooey sauce to douse over the chicken to give a different taste, something unique to Tian Shui Hainan Chicken Rice. The chili was pretty good as the dip as well. Please refer to www.ieatandeat.com for details review.

Eating my meal at Tanglin Halt food centre, it was quite a stuffy environment. Seats available were limited, almost fully occupied during lunch hours. Spotted a stall which was recommended in Magazine “Yummy Guide 2009”, need no further explanation for its popularity. Eye-catching orangey spotlight, hanging chicken were looked tempting juicy. Fluffy rice tasted good with little bit buttery fragrance, in smooth texture without exaggerated oily. While chicken was a bit dehydrated as I was given breast flesh, braised egg was flavourful yet in cold condition and not enough moist. I requested to have a big bowl soup with paying additional $0.50, value for the money. Soup here was really outstanding, perfectly nutritious with corn, red dates and ribs cooking together. The whole set was priced at $4.00, I would not say it was cheap yet reasonable.

I work around Tanglin Halt and had my lunch fix at the hawker centre. Its a small place and the choice of food was limited. Out of all the stall i choose to TIAN SHUI JI FAN! WHY? because i saw certain advertisement pasted outside the store and it looks awesome! So i decided to give a try! Well, the rice smells nice! I love the chicken particularly, it was very tender and soft! The egg tasted normal! But i will try it again if i had a chance to go back to the hawker!

This is a popular stall in this food centre. Queue can be anticipated during lunch and sometimes dinner too. Their chicken meat is one of the better ones in Singapore. They cooked it nicely to a juicy and tender texture and dizzled with their special sauce before served. Their rice has a distintive chicken soup taste and very grainy. Their chilli is made perfectly to go with the rice and chicken. MUST TRY.

Went to Tian Shui Chicken Rice for lunch with my parents. It was good! The chicken was really tender and flavourful. The rice itself not too oily, but just nice! You can even smell the pandan leaf that was cooked with the rice. Very appetizing! It was also priced at a very low price considering the quality of food served at Tian Shui Chicken Rice. Value for money indeed!
