Bean curd is very soft and has tinge of saltiness not the sort of beancurd with no seasoning.
But for the health conscious... They are VERY oily! They will deep fry before serving and drain on a sieve.. but still very oily

This is one of the items that i like from this stall. I tried the tau kwa with fish paste for many times and it always tasted fresh. They managed to fry it well so it did not taste too oily. You can request them to re-fry it if you like it hot with a slight crisp. This is one of their best sellers and always amongst the first few to be sold out. I usually get 2 to have it as snack whenever i come to this food centre for lunch.

I went to tiong bahru market to have lunch with my family. It is a must to buy the tiong bahru fishballs. Their fishballs are really good, it is very tasty. you can taste the tastiness at every bite. Even though it is deep fried, there is still moisture in it and it is very juicy. All these are best eaten with their chilli dip.

Going to toing bahru market, we did not forget to order the famous and delicious toing bahru fishball. We did not order a lot as we intended to try out other food, we got the tau kwa, fishball and fish cake. The uncle was really nice to help us re-fry it for us. The fish cake and fish ball were a little on the salty side but it was real good when eaten hot. The tau kwa was heavenly. The outside was crispy and the insides was soft and juicy. When dipped in their chilli sauce, it taste even better

This is the famous Tiong Bahru Fishball store which I have fond memories enjoying their fishballs my parents bought from the store when I was younger. Ever since the store moved over to the new hawker centre, I have not tried so i decided to have them that day. They have fishcake in the shape of a you tiao which was not bad. Their chili is not that tasty but the fishcakes themselves can already be quite salty.

What could be the best snack to go in between lunch and dinner? The fish cake and tau kwa from this very stall has always been a personal favourite. If you are expecting these fried items to be hot and crispy then you would be disappointed but you can always made a request to have them re-fried if you are eating there. I ended up with 2 pieces of tau kwa and a piece of fish cake for $2.40 when i was there earlier. The tau kwa has a thin layer of fish paste over it. It is one of their most popular items and it sold out rather quick.

The joy of such simplicity is an enjoyment.

If you are looking for snacks in this food centre then you should try this stall. This stall is selling fish cake, fish balls and tau kwa. I always ordered their tau kwa but sometimes i have to order other things as it was already sold out. They sell different types of fish cake and fish balls. All are very nice. I will always come here to get some fish cakes or fish balls if i need something to bring to a pot luck party.

This is one of the original stalls from the already demolished old TIong Bahru Food Centre a really long time ago.

Business was at its peak when i was there during lunch. There were quite a few customers waiting to order or waiting to have their items re-fried. I ordered for a piece of tau kwa and a piece of big fish cake for $1.70. The friendly uncle would tend to recommend some of their specialties if you do not know what to order. Their prices are a little on the high side but i would not mind paying for it.

The tau kwa is amongst one of the items regularly on high demand and tend to be sold out rather quickly. It was a piece of normal tua kwa with a layer of fish paste over it. I have eaten it for quite a few times but it has always tasted fresh each time.

The fish cake tasted a little too average but still an enjoyment to eat it.

This stall offers one of the better snacks if you are looking for something extra.

This stall is quite famous in the area as they "specialised" in selliing fishball and fish cake. You can notice people buying pau and fishball at the same time as it is located next to the tiong bahru pau stall. The stall owner is selling 5 smaller sized fishball for 1 dollar while 4 bigger sized ones are going for 1 dollar too. The stall also welcome preorders if you require a large amount to cater for birthday celebration etc.
