It is pandan flavoured crepe, with coconut filling. What is unique here is that the filling is white in colour, instead of the usual brown coloured. It has a melt in the mouth texture. One of the best which I ever have.

Lemper Ayam ($1.20/ piece)
It is a an Indonesian dish made of glutinous rice filled with chicken. The meat filling is rolled inside the rice, and in turn rolled and wrapped inside a banana leaf.

Ladies Fingers ($4/ box)
An interesting pastry filled with hazelnut filling. It has a light and sponge cake like texture.

Overall the snacks are very tasty and unique.

great location, great service, great prices, and more then great nibbles and sweets.I go there quite a bit and the only time I have been disappointed was when I went there at 10pm and they were closed. They are truly a tiong bahru treasure and have gotten the combination of great food, location, prices, and service, just right. After living in singapore for 5 years I would recommend them to both locals and foreigners...thank you galicier!

Located right along Tiong Bahru room ,you can hardly miss out this bakery where assortments of kueys, cakes and tarts entice you in.I bought quite a variety of kuey that day and I found their items to be pretty good! With soft chewy textures and ample dose of coconut to make it much more fragrant. Ondeh ondeh is one of their best sellers which I tried, but I found the gula melaka wrapped in its soft green kuey to be too little. Their Tapioca cake is pretty darn awesome, so why not hop over if you are in the area to give it a try if you haven done so?

I will always take the opportunity to visit this confectionery whenever I'm around Tiong Bahru! My favourite is definitely their lemper udang! Followed by kueh dadar and ondeh ondeh! This is similar to lemper udang, but the glutinous rice roll is filled with chicken instead of shrimp! It is not bad but I feel that the lemper udang is more shiok Their coconut tart and almond macaroon looks good but taste-wise, it is just so-so only. I’m always excited when I see such a bakery because I know the inside will boast of stories and recipes that are passed down from generations. This sense of nostalgia and familiarity is exactly what makes these kuehs taste even more extraordinary.

The kueh dadar that we normally get from elsewhere is a green-coloured, pandan-flavoured pancake roll filled with brown-coloured grated coconut that has been soaked in gula melaka syrup (palm sugar) but Galicier’s kueh dadar is one of a kind. There is no gula melaka used in the filling so the grated coconut is snow white in colour. And to my delight, the coconut filling is fresh, juicy and crunchy. It is the first time I have tasted the original flavour of coconut in a kueh dadah without having its aroma overpowered by the rich taste of the gula melaka. It is mildly sweetened with rock sugar but definitely not cloyingly sweet. Kudos to this, it’s the BEST kueh dadar I’ve had in Singapore so far.

The ondeh-ondeh (round glutinous rice balls filled with gula melaka) is also very different from the usual ones we get. It is orange in colour with a tinge of sweet potato fragrance as Galicier has added mashed sweet potato to the dough. And the best thing about this ondeh-ondeh? It’s the explosion of liquid gula melaka with tiny toasted sesame seeds when you take a bite of each morsel. If you’re not careful, the lava might just dribble down your mouth and make a mess. But that’s just the fun of eating. The soft and slightly chewy dough is so smooth, it almost melts in your mouth like mochi. Seriously, who invented ondeh-ondehs? These are just so lip-smacking good!

Hubby also bought a few kinds of nonya delights home. They were all pretty tasty and good quality nonya kuehs. We will definitely try more kuehs and cakes here if we happen to be around TB again.

Went to this bakery as my colleague wanted to buy some Kueh for his wife as is famous for traditional kueh. The moment I walked in, this cupcake caught my eyes and I bought it to give it a try. It tastes delicious and I never know that once it added with cream and it tastes perfect. I'm not a cupcake fan. It combines of strawberry cream and on top of it add with cherry. Understand from my colleague that they will come out with different cupcakes each day. Look forward for it.

Its interesting texture attracts me to it, and its taste reminds me of meringue cookies. The confectionery comes with 3 different fillings available: peanut butter, strawberry and hazelnut. And the most interesting part is that this confectionery is called 'Ladies Fingers'. I selected the Hazelnut flavour ones. It costs $5 for 4 pieces. It is very soft and chewy, unlike meringue which hard and very sweet. The filling is very thin and the hazelnut taste is rather faint.

While I have no blood relations with any Peranakans, I do have a profound love for Nonya kuehs. It reminds me of an elderly neighbour who always bakes them in the late afternoons and that coconut rich aroma emitted from her kitchen would be more than enough to distract me from catching a Zappos or an Articulo as I scramble next door to take a quick bite of those wonderfully homemade kuehs. Ahh... Those were the days when I was young and childish...Sad to say she has move out of my neighbourhood

Sad to say she has move out of my neighbourhood many years ago and since then I have been buying kuehs from Bengawan Solo. They were great but not really fantastic. I guess handmade ones are always better than machine made ones. But it doesn’t matter already. I am just glad I found somewhere better and somewhere nice.

The name’s Galicier Confectionery and the place’s hidden amidst the old estates of Tiong Bahru. A shop that sells nothing but cakes kuehs and whatever old school. It’s like a dream come true! How I wish I just live above the confectionery and that would make afternoon tea with kuehs so easily accessible everyday!

If you have to ask, I would say every kueh is worthy of the confectionery’s name but my personal favourite has got to be their Kueh Dadar. It’s very different from your typical ones. Take a bite if you have a chance and you will find nothing but white grated coconuts instead of overly sweeten gula melaka ones. Coupled with their thin pandan wraps would easily make Galicier’s kueh dadars as one of the best ones in Singapore.

Concealing a molten gula melaka core and then evenly coated with pure white grated coconut, their Ondeh Ondehs are a joy to enjoy! Even though it’s been quite sometime since I had Galicier one’s, I can still imagine the explosive sweet core bursting into my mouth. It’s a piece of heaven that’s for sure! Their Tapioca Cakes on the other hand, tasted just like their ondeh ondehs just without that awesome molten gula melaka core…

But if I were you, I would just pick a few more ondeh ondehs instead but that’s me for you. I am pretty excessive that’s for sure!

It’s really hard to find old school shops that still churns out good old school kuehs these days so you bet that I’m glad to find Galicier. I heard that they have another outlet somewhere around Serangoon but I think I will just stick to Tiong Bahru one whenever I feel like relieving the past again.

Today I'm going to introduce Galicier Confectionery. This is my first time trying their cake from my cousin Based on my opinion, their cake was awesome when I first bite it because they are very soft and quite presentable as well. The only thing that I hate about cake is their cream but overall, they have different flavours of cake to allow customer to choose from.
